Trying to decide with the wife where to get 4 season tickets....

The New Jackets Nest vs Section 111
I'm going to need some opinions since i've never sat in the northern upper deck.

Here are the potential pros and cons so far.

NEST PROS
cheap seats

NEST CONS

too close to visitors? too many non tech fans in your section?
sun
more stairs?
poor access to consessions?
futher from the action?

Sec111 PROS
Closer to the action
less stairs
better access to consessions?
Sometimes out of the sun
Usually surrounded by Tech fans

Sec111 Cons
More expensive seats
Weird angle of the field

Thoughts? Opinions?

I can't speak to the economics, as that's usually a case-by-case basis, but to me the most important aspect of choosing seating would be the surrounding fans. You really don't want to be near the visiting fans, or even sidewalk fans who don't really care.

Come on man, sell some blood, sit on a freeway off ramp with a big can or something to make a few extra bucks and join us in sec. 226

i have seats in the premium section, near the field in Section 102, and i had opposing fans in front of me for virtually every game. apparently a group of people have the tickets and sell them to the enemy. so, it doesnt really seem to matter where you are sitting these days b/c we have crappy fans that bail out at the slightest disturbance

I always have some visiting fans around me in 111, but it's majority Tech fans. I worry that the north upper deck would be majority visiting fans and few Tech fans.

I understand that they are trying to change that with the Jackets nest promotion.

226 is for old ladies. 206 is where all the cool kids sit.

Yea, I ran into some of those 206 sissy's awhile back and trust me dude your amatures...Really, my buddy sits in 206 and even he says 226 is much better....By the way my old lady sits in 226 as well....:laugher:

know your old lady sits in 226, I can see her. She's pretty hard to miss in Rows 6, 7, and 8.:laugher:

I used to sit in 227, the crowd was better (loader and stood). 206 is quieter and only stand on third down. Except for the guy who yells "stinger" every other down. Now that Chan is gone, I'm not sure there is going to be any yelling at all.

Upper East is a better game experience, unless you bring kids. Seats are better on the west, unless you like constant sun.

Jackets Nest!

Your angle for the field will be a lot better, and sitting next to visitors is going to be a lot more enjoyable once we start kicking their ass running the same play over and over. Plus, there's like 10 Stingtalkers who already have Jackets Nest seats.

beej67,
215, row 12, seats 20,21

After having sideline seats for 25 years, I switched my seats to the Jackets Nest this year. Last year the visiting fans were interlaced throughout the upper east. Most of them had better seats than I did.

I have four seats in Section 219 row 22 seats 1-4. This is the piece of the upper deck that juts out next to the Edge building. It is lower than most of the Jackets Nest section. It is closer to the students hopefully away from visitors) and has the best possible angle in the endzone.

I bought some in 215 row 12 because I was formerly in 229 which were bad. I was in the neighborhood last week and walked the stadium and believe me, your sight lines for plays can't be better than what you have from the Jackets Nest (straight down the field). If you want to be a little closer, section 218 may still have some Jacket's Nest tickets (they did last week). It is closer to the field, but a slightly skewed sight line. I fully expect the N Upper Deck to be more Tech friendly this year, so I wouldn't worry about other team's fans. You'll always have a few, but like someone else mentioned, that makes it more fun when we are kicking tail.

Can you go down there during the day and walk inside the stadium, look at the seats in real life, etc. before making a decision?

Our seats are in Section 124. The entire row in front of us, behind us, and the rest of our row wore red at the uga game. Our fans are in the bottom 10 in all of college football.

i agree! its amazing we get as much pub as we do, having had College Gameday and so many Thursday night games. i think the night games are better, because you cant see as clearly how many of the fans are from the other team and how un-unified our own fans look and dress.

If you go to the ticket office on the ground floor of the north end and talk to them, they will probably let you walk up there (they let me).
