The Jackets defeated the Dogs on the field a few weeks ago and appears to have won the all-important bowl gift bag comparison battle between the schools. NCAA rules allow bowls to give players as much as $500 in gifts and The SportsBusiness Journal cataloged the gifts that will be handed out this year.

Hmm, the Visa gift card is (very) nice, but you think our players don't get enough Russell equipment to need the hats and bag? Of course they'll probably give some of that to friends and family anyway.

But sure, I could find a use for the gift cards. This is also the kind of thing I think of when people say student-athletes should be paid.
