I keep seeing rumors of this. Have I been left out of the loop? Has it been confirmed that we're moving the game?

Why? More embarrassing than playing Samford? If it happends I bet ESPNU or CSTV picks it up.

I think it would be outstanding to completely thrash someone on a Thursday night, under the city lights. Lets get some recruits on campus for it. It'd be much better than thrashing them in the summer heat, with the chairback seat guys all hiding in their air-conditioned bar making it look like the seats aren't sold.

Even if we don't get national coverage, they'll be flashing our score up during whatever game does get coverage. Herbstreit, "Well it appears Tech has gone up 41 to zero at the half and has 8000 yards rushing on 80 carries.."

It sounds good to me. I've also heard rumors we travel to BC and VT in the following weekends. Good to be nice and cool (in Boston at least).

After what App. St. did to Michigan....LA-Monroe did to Alabama....Stanford did to Southern Cal....I am going to keep my mouth shut!

The potential is there to lay the ball on the rug multiple times in our first game....first game in a new offense with a new QB and a lot of tricky exchanges. I am glad we are not opening with a major program this year because of this major change.

One game that is disappointing to everyone...including the GTAA staff is that no one of more interest would agree to play us to replace the Army game. It looks like Gardner-Webb will be the team. It will also likely be mid-way through the year instead of early as a preparatory game. Army just left us in a no-win situation.

This does mean that we have to win 7 games this year to be bowl eligible assuming we beat Jax St and Gardner-Webb.

If my memory is correct, I think that because the Ga. Dome scheduled the game between Alabama & Clemson for that weekend, Radakovich says "to hell with that" let's just move our first game to Thursday night and steal some of their thunder. A total slap in the face IMO for the Atlanta Sports Council to have a game in the Dome in Georgia Tech's backyard.

more tough times for the schedule next year....Paul Johnson said this morning that our first two ACC games are away at Boston College and away at Virginia Tech. He said he was not too happy about that.

We got a killer schedule with away games at Boston College, Virginia Tech, Clemson, and Georgia

Home games against Miss. St., FSU, Virginia, and Miami.

That is 8 big ones...and I would not think Butch Davis will be down at North Carolina too much longer.

Do you have a link to our schedule next year?

It hasn't been released yet. Does anyone have some "insider info" regarding some key dates, or when the schedule will be released?

We don't have the schedule yet. Only the dates for the Jax St, UGA, Miss St, Miami, and UGA games.

We have been told the game at Boston College is Sept. 6.

It is likely the game against Gardner-Webb is Oct. 11....it seems Sept. 13 may be an open date. That would make the game at VaTech Sept. 27.

Of course, nothing is set in stone until it is released.

Yes, he didn't want to play on that Saturday afternoon due to the potential for a very hot day. Playing the Thursday before also gives them eight days off before their ACC opener and allows them to start summer practices earlier.

I'm all for Thursday night for the opener. Now we need to get espn or espn 2 to cover it. Great exposure for Tech and a lot of buzz about CPJ.
