Over on Jacketsonline.com there is an article that says Jacoby Monroe, The #6 DE in the country, has Tech at the top of his list. He is the 55th best player in the country regardless of position. If we get him it will be a huge pick-up. He has all the makings of a star...with speed, size, ability and "the look". We are at the top on a bunch of guy's lists and now just need to worry about closing on some more commitments. Jacoby, you know what Tech offers, now just make the right decision.

Go Jackets!!!

His grades was a question mark early in his recruiting. I hope that issue is clearing up and acceptance wouldn't be a problem. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif

This is a situation where not having the full compliment of scholarships will hurt. We have the same problem with a couple of others like Tucker.

If we had a full slate, we could afford to wait and see on a couple and help them improved their coursework over the summer and fall. However, we have to fill all 79 slots and cannot fall short.

If we wait, we take a big risk. Or you move on to the next young man.

Hopefully all will get worked out quickly and we will not have to worry about it.

as panther said, Butler is absolutely fine. Heck, his coach even said on the audio file that he started out tough in 9th grade, but worked hard and did better each year...doing fine now. His test score was fine as well.

Academic progress means a lot if the learning curve is positive. This is also the case with Dwyer.
