Jake Skole has committed to UGA to play football and ending his baseball career... What a buzz-kill!
 
no clue who he is, but if this old guy is a get, then good for kirbs. he needs some good news.
 
dude's got to be like 26 y/o...right? He should have looked at BYU....they are more equipped to handle the old dudes.
 
I thought Skole had already graduated. If he wants to go be a gagger and play for the douches, I hope the door hits him on the ass when he leaves.

What sold him? The academic prestige, the national championship contending team, the fan base love for the coach, or the stellar post graduate job options? Or is he illiterate and hoping to learn to read?

If "we have 18 year old girls with daddy issues" was the primary selling point, he really should have applied to Florida State. That's the first line of their fight song.

he did have 1.5 mil signing bonus...hopefully he banked that money

He lost about 1/3 of that to taxes and another 1/3 to lawyers and agents (who take a big chunk, then go unpaid for the 4-5 years it takes to make the big leagues). So he probably netted $500k. Then he spent 7 years in the minors where he made a $12,000 / year salary, so in reality he had to live off the signing bonus and/or take a loan from his agent. Never making a 40 man roster means he's probably burned the entire bonus or is close to it.
