I just met Jamaal at the Airport on his way to Dallas. We spoke briefly before our flight. He was proudly wearing his GT Sweatshirt. A very engaging and polite young man.

GGGT,
It's always good to hear when a GT man does well by others. BTW, since I see you are from Cartersville, how is the old "4-Way Lunch" doing these days. The newspaper should do a history article about that place if they haven't already. That's the only place I ever called on that I actually had to cuss someone out to get them to buy from me. (LOL) Not really that bad but pretty danged near it.

RJ...the 4 Way is still the warm fuzzy place you remember. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugher.gif

The only problem with eating there is that you have to change your clothes or everyone will know where you had lunch!

Nothing like eating somewhere when you get through eating they tell you to get up and make space for someone else. Delicious chili burger. Of course 4 Way only holds about 20 people.

Welcome to Tech Jamaal. Work hard. Pass Lavette someday (Cartersville's own)

YEP!!! hehe,
That's the old "4way" alright. Back in the 60's when I used to call on them, the old guys there would tell a customer to hurry up and finish, so somebody else could have their stool. ( LOL ) At the "4way", tact was never an issue to discuss, but it was an issue to cuss.

I'll have to give this place a try.

Reminds me of this barbecue shack up the road from Montgomery, Al. I loved to go in there just to hear Alabama senators yelled and cussed at to leave for the same reason.
Can't remember the name of the place, but the closest town I think is Maplesville.

If you can remember the name and location, please let me know. I'm forever looking for the good BBQ places. It's been my experience that the newer larger more modern BBQ resturants are wonderful but the BBQ just isn't as good as the old smoke filled family owned BBQ joints. My car is pretty well trained to just pull off the road at these places.

Rome,
that is what you will have to do at this place. It's(or was) on a 2 lane highway, and you just pulled off the road on the shoulder and walked a good way.

I will try to find the name of the shack for you. It had 12 -15 tables max.
I was working for Gulf States Paper out of Tuscaloosa, and we had a plant in Maplesville. Every time I visited, I begged the plant manager to take me to this place. I have moved on since, but will do some research.
It was goooood! Ribs, White bread and sweet tea. Some days they had slaw. That's the offering. Cuts down on the expense of printing a menu.

Good Question. Around 5'8" I believe and pretty solid. It was difficult to tell because of his sweat suit. Sorry, not much help I know.
