James Graham played today

So Paul Johnson decides to let James Graham in at QB.

He runs one play and that’s all we saw of him. That was probably the most disappointing thing that happened today. I already knew we sucked.

We have four chances to display this kid’s talent and that’s the best CPJ can come up with? WTF is going on with CPJ?

Marshall was out
Oliver's helmet came off
Graham went in

The only other alternative was calling a timeout. Like or hate the decision - IIWII

Oliver is no upgrade over Taquon. That pass out of bounds on 4th and 17 is something we’ve seen from Taquon before. No thank you, I say.

Would love to see James Graham start at QB a few times this year....considering this year’s bowl chances are long gone.

Actually there were two alternatives:
a) Call the timeout---you're down 3 TD's. The redshirt is more important than the timeout
b) Now that you've decided to put him in one for play, why not let the kid who has the best arm try throwing a few passes to see what he can do

Using up one of his 4 plays to just run one keeper play was idiotic.

Good thing we have a 4 game rule this year... He's played in one game this season. He probably won't play in another. If you're angry about Graham going in for a play today then I suggest focusing on the real problems with this team.

I’m not sure I’d call what he did “playing.” I guess it was better than running around behind the line and fumbling while trying to lay down though.

If he is the future, do you want to see us burn a year of eligibility like Gailey did with Nesbitt?

I'm not angry and I 100% agree that we have bigger problems to focus on. But I just don't understand the decision.
The kid is, according to our own coaching staff, the best passer of the 3 QB's. We're behind by 3 TD's so we almost certainly are going to have to throw more. And we've already decided to use up one of the 4 games. So let the kid play.

This is a really dumb controversy.

- He's the #3 QB, he's probably lower on the WR depth chart.
- Our top two QBs were out and we were trying to win the damn game.
- He doesn't lose a year of eligibility, he gets four games to play.
- He's not some secret weapon we needed to save for other games. He's low on the depth chart.

There was no good reason not to play him today

I think the decision was as simple as saving the timeout

Remember before we played our first game of the season CPJ was talking about having James play some at WR because he was so good?

Do you really trust this coaching staffs ability to discern which of our players is the best passer ?
