Has there been any update as to the status of JJ Green? Hoping he is okay because he has turned into such a weapon for us on offense and special teams.

I was wondering the same thing. He took a pretty hard shot. Looked like a helmet to the back of his hip.

The fact that he was putting zero weight on one leg, and was taken to the locker room seemed like bad signs to me.
But here's to hoping for the best.

Was wondering about an update myself. Hope everything turns out good for him. Special teams definitely took a hit with him out.

Looked bad at game. I thought he was knocked out cold.

His right(?) leg got hung up underneath him when he took the hit. Looked like he probably tore up his knee. Didnt look good.

Totally the fault of the players on the left side of the formation on the kickoff. Damn Duke players coming absolutely full speed with not one Tech player in the way. Assholes. I was yelling "ööööing block" before they ever crushed him.

31, 48 and 25.

They should be ashame of themselves.

One of them actually knocked over one of the other ones before the Duke players got to them. I öööö you not.

I lost my shit a few times at the stadium today in the second half, screaming at the team. That was one of those moments. But Cyptom scared away an old lady.

Hilary has gone a bit a far with this one, even you must admit.
I would vote JJ Green if he were on the ballot. Green party. I felt bad for him. It was totally an avoidable play. Our receiving team was as bad as I have ever seen yesterday. Even on subsequent kicks, after making horrible decisions to not take a touchback, our returner seemed to be mostly on his own. I would call it terrible blocking, but you have to actually block to block terribly.

Yep, I also noticed two of our guys getting up off the ground with no Dukies near them, as though they took each other out of the play.

I thought it was a hip shot too. I've taken one of those hits and it hurts like hell. It hurt way more than a dislocated knee. The worst part is you feel like crapping your pants afterwards.

Should have yelled louder...

I sit in 218 below the walkway near the bottom so they were running right at me. When they kicked that way I was like "Holy ööööing öööö block those guys" It was like watching a freight train about to hit a sports car stuck on the tracks. I know what kind of drill GOL would run. He would run the "We are going to kick off to you. Only you. No blockers. Now get back there and see what it feels like to get hit by two players running as fast as they can". I was so pissed. JJ Green's injury is on those guys for not attempting their assignments.

I was also yelling "GET OUT THERE" when we decided not to cover the Duke WR near the goal line in the North just before we burned another valuable time out to keep it from being an uncovered pitch and catch TD. I wasn't upset with the penalty just prior because it allowed us to at least get personnel onto the field. Of course, those players were confused and didn't cover the WR. Didn't matter in the end because Duke scored anyway so we got a penalty getting personnel on the field and burned a timeout to keep from giving up an embarrassing TD only to give up a TD anyway. Frustrating.

Duke had a chance to win yesterday late because of clock management. We had already burned two timeouts. They still had all three and used them to almost get the ball back . One, IIRC, was just after a stoppage of play (start of the 4th?) because we allowed the game clock to almost expire - coming out of a damn stoppage of play already.

I just can't imagine an excuse for that lack of blocking. The ball was kicked to that side. I think that should've been fairly obvious to the players on the field. Gotta slow down the edge guys.

I don't know what it is. Do the players just automatically assume that the ball is kicked to the center of the field, like Butker always kicks? The Duke kicker seemed to vary his kicks more than we do. I suppose our guys just fall back to the center of the field to form an impenetrable wall of blocking death.

We already covered this. The 3 blockers on that side decided to do a 3 Stooges routine before the Duke coverage even got there. Then JJ made the poor decision to actually run to that side of the field.
