...why the delay in hiring him? Arkansas is still looking, too.... wonder if they'd look at him? they have lots of cash...lots of wal-mart cash

Dude, come on, you know we've offered him, and now it's up to PJ.

I have that fear also, then we are talking about bucks

He has been quoted as saying that if he is leaving he will talk to his team first before any announcement is made. The delay is 100% PJ.

Maybe its his call and doesn't want to be here? I have said from the beginning I don't think he ends up the guy and I still don't. Especially if the money is substantially higher now then anticipated it would be foolish to go this route. I think we will know tomorrow.

You again. Heesh.:D

I swear to God the only reason he made this thread is because of my post in the other one.

A friend of mine who knows Paul talked to him during the season and told me that he wants to come to Tech.

But now that reality is staring him in the face, and he has multiple offers, he may, hell, he is obviously having second thoughts.

How long do you wait on Paul Johnson? He has the opportunity to coach at Georgia Tech, Duke, Navy, or SMU. It sounds like we would pay him well if the 1.5 to 1.8 range is credible. Either he realizes that coaching at Tech and Navy offers the best tradition, Tech offers by far the best chance to succeed on a national scale, and maybe SMU will pay more? It should be a no brainer. He should have met with the Navy team this morning and be in Atlanta ready for press conferences on the 5 PM news. It makes me wonder if he is waiting on Arkansas or even Michigan.

Without a "yes" in the next few hours I would move on.
