Could Tenuta be bad for our offense? Does his blitzing crazily in practice keep our offense from ever having a chance to get in sync against a live defense?

These are random thoughts, but they could possibly have merit. I imagine it is very difficult to have both an execeptional offense and an exceptional defense because one has to be winning in practice and the other loses confidence and synchronicity(May have made this word up). Just a thought.

Ask USC QB's about the hell they have to go through in practice facing different blitzing schemes by Pete Carroll.

My answer: I think it's a benefit, if anything.

Especially beneficial in a league where defense tends to trump offense.

Imo, I think it is in the offense's best interests that the defense goes all out in order to prepare for Saturday, when they face a truly hostile defense. Don't concern yourself with the alarmists on this board saying our offense will be terrible this year, the offense will rebound with two cupcake games and one easy ACC game in preparation for our showdown with VPIss on September 30th , a game where our offense will show its true form IMHO.

.

Interesting point. However, one can make the counter-argument that it would make gamedays a little easier playing teams with a more basic defensive package. A rhetorical question - under actual game conditions, how many points would Nix's/Gailey's O of the last 2-3 years score against a Tenuta defense, given that we are averaging (i am guessing) about 17-18 ppg over the last 12 games?
