Yeah, yeah, I know he's an outstanding DC. No disputing that.

However, coaches learn from who they work for.....as far as I know, Jon was kind of a vagabond until he landed here at GT. Who would be the person who has taught him the most about being a head coach?

Yup. Think about it.

Just throwin' that out into the mix as another data point.

Jon's been a DC under Forrest Gregg, Howard Schnellenberger (or maybe a position coach for him), John Cooper, John Bunting and Chan Gailey. He's also worked for George Welsh, Jerry Claiborne, Stan Parrish and someone at Marshall whose name escapes me. There are some great ones and some not-so-great ones in that list.

Why Muschamp? What makes anyone here think he is more qualified than Tenuta...And Muschamp is a Dawg to boot!

Muschamp = more energetic + better D against better competition + success in both NFL and College + younger - UGAy grad (only thing that seemingly detracts from his qualifications; although imo it isn't a real factor)

I agree, he is no more qualified than Jon. Also, someone on here said he was 58 years old , that is not true he is 50.

Muschamp = more energetic

If anyone says anyone is more energetic than Tenuta, they clearly haven't been to a GT practice. Dude is seriously in-your-face.

I wouldn't know it since he is always upstairs in the box instead of down on the field closer to his D. Although I have heard the Tenuta drops many F bombs during the games from people who sit near the box.

Doesn't Tenuta refuse to recruit? Wouldn't that be a problem for a potential HC?

He is in direct communication with his coaches on the field at all times that is why I stated "why didn't Tenuta have someone coaching the defense after the score".

Also personally I do not care for the vulgar language. As a sports official I hear it way to often and it is totally unnecessary. It adds nothing to the game.

Tenuta consistently put out AWESOME defenses with subpar recruiting.

Muschamp had ALL THE TALENT IN THE WORLD at lsu and Auburn. Tenuta is more proven than Muschamp, imo.

There's a reason Spurrier wants him if Tyrone Nix bolts.
