Who is the best RB out of the 3? I think GT got the better end of the stick...Considering that we will be DEEP at the RB position next year....Choice, Evans, Dwyer, & Jones.... I can't wait to see these guys eat up the field next year...I imagine that at least one of these incoming freshmen will get RS. This means that they'll only get BIGGER & STRONGER during next season....
King is good however. I am going to trust in our recruiting gurus & know that Jones & Dwyer were the best choices.....
Any thoughts?
I can't wait for GT to have one more "W" after Saturday!

In an article in the AJC this AM Dwyer was noted, by Rivals.com, to be the best RB prospect in the state this year.

Yeah but that was beofre King broke his leg. Then Dweyer moved ahead of him in the rankings...

We'll never know which is the best until their soph or junior year in college, which is exactly why Tech got the better end of the stick. We get two rolls of the dice, they got one.

Personally, I like Dwyer. He seems a little bigger and you never know how or how fast King comes back from his broke leg.

My thoughts exactly....2 highly rated RB over one....especially when you consider the overall number of reps you can get out of 2 plus factoring in the % in a chance of injury....

Personally, I am still looking forward to seeing J. Evans get his carries maybe he will see the field at UGA at RB (doubtful) but it could happen if we get out to a big enough lead.....It will be time to rest our starters again!!! LOL for the ACC Championship GAME!!!

KICK A MUTT TODAY!!

You forgot to mention Reshaun Grant for next year as well. He will always be in the mix. And to date, he is the highest ranked RB Chan Gailey has ever gotten a commitment out of.

Put It This Way

If colleges could trade players, would you trade Jones & Dwyer for King?

No. No way. Even if King were healthy, which he is not. Even if King had the grades, which apparently is an issue.

Thunder & Lightning will help win a lot of games for Georgia Tech.

Watching film of Caleb King and Roddy Jones...I see little difference between the two. I give Roddy the nod because he carries no off-the-field issues with his 1870 SAT and 3.6 GPA. Caleb will be a Prop 48 and not be in Athens next year. Additionally, even before the injury...Caleb was not putting up close to the numbers Roddy was putting up. Roddy averages one TD every 7.8 carries and now holds the DeKalb County single season rushing record despite playing only 1/2 of many games. Roddy is built like a truck and is by no means a small back even though he has small back moves. When you put 195 lbs. on a 5-9 frame and a low center of gravity...you have a dangerous back that is hard to see and bring down.

Dwyer is a different type of back...more like a Dorsey Levens...a fantastic back....big-time player.

I would not trade Caleb King for either of them.

btw...Caleb was extremely interested in GT and came to multiple practices. He even provided his transcripts but we told him during the summer it was not a good fit.

Here is how I see the three:

First off, King wasn't going to be offered by GT, and he's not getting into GA other than by way of Hargrove. He's a great player though.

Both Dwyer and Jones both had monster senior seasons. They both got bigger and stronger their senior seasons. Jones played all of only three games all year and still racked up unreal yards and tds, while breaking the all time county record.

We don't know what King would have done because he got hurt (broken leg). He played on one of the states best teams his Fr., So, and Jr seasons before transfering to get help in the classroom. Playing for Parkview helped his publicity a lot.

We won't know what kind of college players these guys will be untill they get into their Jr. and Sr Years probably.

Dwyer and Jones from what everyone can tell are super great young men who fit into our program well.

I'm not saying this because he is going elsewhere, but King does not fit our program. GT is not for everyone. UGA isn't for everyone as well.

We're very fortunate to have Dwyer and Jones coming to GT.

It will be interesting to see what the futures hold for all three of these backs.

And we still may not know. If Herschel was a high school SR and committed to UGAg today Richt would find a way to waste his talent.

2 highly rated backs are always better than 1

When you're talking recruits. 2 is better than 1 because your bets are hedged.

Caleb King will probably break every Hargrave rushing record there is.
We won't see him in person until '08 at the earliest.
