Well, GW left a bad taste in my mouth, I decided to not even read the boards the past couple days. The team was very disappointed in their performance as was the coaches.
- After talking with a few of the coaches they believe we will be close to full strength this week at Clemson. Josh is back and feeling good, the day of the GW game I said he would be dressed and he says he was gonna give it a shot, the reason I said we shall see is I really didn't think PJ would put him out there. Josh wanted to play but giving him more rest was the best for him. He did warmup before the game and probably was about at 85%. He will be back to normal for Clemson, he displayed what makes him special yesterday at practice, he is at 100%. Josh was put thru a nice test to make sure his is ready and showed no signs of the hammy injury. Jaybo is ok, we were just taking every possible precaution with him and he should see some snaps this week.
- I really feel for Cal, he was so pumped about getting the shot to lead the team and while he did not play well I don't put a lot of it on him. He was put in a tough situation to succeed. Our play calling was very vanilla, he did not audible at the line, we had pre-determined plays and pitches, he really did not run a read option much at all, and there was no blocking on pass plays. Mostly he struggled because of the OL, they played horrible and got beat by a 1AA DL. There could be one or two changes to the line this week. One thing though to remember about the OL is they really haven't practiced together much as a full unit because of injuries.
- The coaches admitted they did not prepare as much as they should have for GW. It was an all around poor effort last week.
- JD was frustrated, never seen him get that way. The OL did not help out at all and JD wanted to get the ball in more ways then just a straight ahead dive. I look for him to bounce back strong this week.
- Derrick Morgan probably won the game for us, I really did not feel good at all about overtime. He had an outstanding game.
- We have to step up in every facet of the game this week against Clemson if we want to win. I know this, the coaches have all the players undivided attention, this was a wake up call for the guys and they are all embarrassed, I look for a good week of practice and to see a team Saturday with something to prove.
- Scary scene with Sed out there, he is fine and practicing. Just forgot his medicine.
- We are preparing to see both QB's for Clemson, we think they will pull out all the stops and probably play better this week then they have all year. Spiller is out for the game.
- Marcus Wright saw his first action, he fumbled and thats what the coaches were worried about with him, he struggles holding onto the ball. His blocking is improving.
- Sylvester is really impressing coaches and could keep seeing more and more time. He will be a stud before his time at GT is done.
- Jefferson says he is feeling good, has a small cast on his wrist but says he is fine playing with it. He missed some reads in the GW game but he is ready for Clemson.
- Korn will be getting his first chance against a defense that is not forgiving of new QB's. The DL is licking their chops, he is more mobile then Harper but our DE's are just as fast as him. One coach told me he is more Jaybo elusive then Josh elusive.
- Gotta give credit to GW they played their hearts out.
- Clemson will still run the base offense, they cant change much in a few days.
- The team is ready to put GW behind us and move on to Clemson.
- This is a big week, this is a game we should win and need to win. We need to take care of business and come out strong early to counter that emotion they will be playing with.
I haven't read the board so some things might of already been covered. Sorry, if anybody has anymore questions shoot.
