As much as I liked Reggie at a point , he nor Gailey could have recovered from this game. Nesbitt IS a leader, and he does what coach asks. he is a good runner and a good leader for this offense. If nesbitt continues with bad passes we can talk, but give the man a break, Clemson has talent. Our players are not immune to short comings. That said i feel we could have done bette, but our coach will work this out, we do not need to worry! Go Jackets!

Something changed between JSU and last night in Josh's throwing mechanics. Against JSU, his passes were generally on the mark, they just weren't caught. Last night he was putting a lot more air under the ball (on all but two passes). I don't think CPJ was expecting Clemson to play as much pass coverage as they did. So I think they had Nesbitt practice floating the ball to get over the (expected) shallow coverage.

But Clemson's DL was able to handle our OL without much help. The ends were getting up field to disrupt the pitch (after the second play), while the tackles were stopping the dive single-handily. CPJ adjusted for the last two drives by switching to the QB keeper. I’m surprised the Clemson DC didn’t adjust 1 drive sooner.

Clemson's d-line is light years better than our heralded line from last year. Out of those three, one is a situational pass rusher and the other two got cut. Sapp probably gets taken in second round and Bowers is a top 15 player (#1 rated DE in his class). That's two NFL starters, one of which is a huge playmaker. Thompson and Jenkins are also NFL talent and top 15 DTs. Great DEs are the best weapon against the option because the DE is the key man.

We still have light years to go on the development of our O line as well.

Josh was throwing off his back foot a LOT last night, and CU's DB's are light years better than JSU's.

Nesbitt was off at times last night. But late in the fourth he was CLUTCH.

I happen to think that Reggie would have fared pretty well in this offense. Probably would have suited his style of play better than the pro-style offense.
