You know that special intangible some players have that makes them stand out? There might be nothing physically superior about this guy over the next, but you know when he's in the game, he's gonna be able to win the game on what seems like sheer will. Josh is the first GT QB to have this since Lil Joe. No offense to George Godsey, who was great for us, but all of us knew Lil Joe would tough it out and carry the team on his shoulders when the rest of the team wasn't firing. Even though Calvin Johnson had "it", he was never in a position to take over the game and win it for us because we didn't have a QB who could get him the ball.

While Nesbitt hasn't done this one the scale Lil Joe did, you know he will sometime in the future. I know Roddy Jones and Diesel are getting all the praise for their huge games, and deservedly so, but to me, Josh was the MVP of the game against Georgia. While there was nothing statistically outstanding about his game, he made the right reads and put us position to make those big plays. Most importantly, he took care of the football and didn't allow Georgia to get any momentum from turnovers. What more could we have asked from him in that game? Oh yeah, and the guy only played most of the season on bad legs.

For the next 2 years, I know we have a QB who has the capability to win us championships. We know that not only is he a capable quarterback, but that he's also gonna leave his heart and soul out there on the field. It's nice to have that feeling after a long, long time.

I remember what Nesbitt was able to do rushing the ball back when we played Virginia Tech.

He doesn't have outstanding speed, but he's shifty and can take some hits at the QB position. He can consistently give you 10 yard gains when the defense makes him keep the ball, and his scrambling ability has bailed us out on many occasions. I don't think any of our recruits will take the #1 position away from him while he's healthy and around.

I wish there was an 'assists' stat for the option, so he could get super-crazy 'assisted yardage' and 'assisted TD' stats for all the pitches he made.

Agreed, he's never going to have big numbers with the way stats are, but seems like QB/WR both get a start for passing/receiving, seems like the option QB should get one for pitch/rush.

That said, stats are for wienies, and Josh seems like a very TEAM guy, has really been a pleasure watching him develop into the position this year and am very excited to see what another month of practice does before the bowl game and what the next couple years hold. Barring any injuries or insanely talented recruits I think Josh is our QB for the next 2 seasons.

i do think the new guys will take the #2 spot away from jaybo. i love the kid. he has come into a couple situations and helped us out big time but until he either gets bigger or finds a way to hold onto the ball better.

My fav thing that Nesbitt "has" is a win over UGA. Other than that he is a great guy and a heck of an athlete but I promise you guys will see a better QB for this offense during PJ's tenure and you will be blown out of the water by what we will accomplish.

If you doubt me just check my sig, i'll at least be 1/2 right :)

It's not that we won't have a QB that will more perfectly fit this system. Josh isn't the prototypical option QB. But I don't know if we will have another QB who has the combination of skill and moxie... they don't come along every day.

I tell you what it is. You get tired of losing. At some point you don't give a **** and you aren't gonna effin' lose anymore.

As Jimmy Connors used to say, "It's not that I love winning so much, it's that I HATE losing."

And Jimmy didn't have to live with all the redneck cesspool losers reminding him everyday...
