I realize he made a bonehead play fielding the punt inside the 5 yard line, but he played a solid game on defense. He may be our best DB. He has the size and intangibles to play at the next level.

Agree. Very fast and talented.

It happened. That's the way the ball bounces. There were a ton of plays yesterday that could have made the difference had they gone the other way. A better pass on a few plays. Not covering the squib properly. Not containing UVA's QB the play after the squib. I'm sure if I were to review there were blocking assignments blown.

We played good overall and were in a position to win. We just didn't make the plays we had to.

VT is a winnable game. I'd be extremely disappointed if we can't beat NC State. Our bowl game, and what will get us through the off-season, is the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Beat our remaining ACC contests and win that last game and the off-season will be positive

And yes, I do think we can beat UGAg

Didn't one of the Alabama guys that everybody gushes over do the same thing? People make mistakes, sometimes ones where they know better

Do they have Remedial Football at Tech? Some of these errors are inexcusable. Time will tell.

I think we do have a shot.

Didn't JT field a couple of punts inside the 5 last year as well, or was that someone else?

Beating UGA will take a nearly perfect game from our QB tossing the ball because no one has been able to run on UGA's defense.

I think 3 of our 4 starting DBs and probably KO could all play at the next level, we have a lot of talent in the secondary and even more coming in.

This is delusional. The talent disparity is glaring. They are more talented and deeper at every single position.
The talent disparity is always glaring, we've still beaten them before. The 4 year running average for recruiting rankings shows South Carolina at 19th, App State at 100th. Good thing nobody told app state about the talent disparity huh? Tennessee slots in at 17th, Ga State at 106th - I guess they didn't get the memo either. Penn State shows up at number 11, while Minnesota is 42nd. GT comes in at 52, Citadel is probably in the 200-300s.

Talent can be a factor, but it isn't even close to the only factor.

They’ve taken it to another level in recent years. Only 2 teams in the entire country have more 4 and 5 stars - Alabama and Ohio State.

The disparity along both lines in particular is huge.

When you combine that with this being year 1 of something radically different, our youth, and the injuries, it’s just silly to think this game will even be close.

That is every year since the early 1960's

Nope. There’s been several years in there that I could pick out players that I’d take from GT over their counterpart at UGA. There is not one single position that I’d say that now.

I’m proud of how our guys are fighting, but it’s just the reality.
