Just about the worst officiating of the year including VT

The officiating was certainly bad. That statement is accurate. Would have been much happier if we could have played through it, but that's how it goes I guess.

Last year it was all the blocks in the back on the punt return that set up the winning TD. This year it is numerous false starts, phantom catches, and crappy spots, and of course that bogus TD the refs gift wrapped them.

T_G, my friend, I enjoy being on StingTalk with you guy, but the refs had nothing to do with this loss.

The refs did not lose the game for us, no, but they made a few calls that I looked at and thought that they screwed us over on entirely and hurt us in the long run.

That was the slowest whisle ever on a fumble, you really think that guy reached in and FOUND the ball, hell someone pushed to ball to him, they should ahve blown it dead,

WORST news is that was the ACC #1 refs,

I'm assuming those were SEC refs. Dan should be filing a protest with somebody Monday morning.

Actually - I'd be in favor of terminating the whole series. We get treated like this every time we play in Athens.

I agree officiating never loses you a game but it sure as hell makes it 100 times more difficult to win.

Amen to that statement. If we take care of business in the red zone it doesn't matter.

Refs played no major role in this one.

Yep, we settled for three twice, RB missed CJ on third down over the middle in the end zone and he still almost made a catch. We missed the 2 point conversion, UGA made theirs.

My read is that the fumble return call probably only cost us 1 point - They probably (well, maybe not with that kicker) would have got a field goal out of the turnover anyway, and would have kicked off without the penalty, which would probably have taken away our great field position after the TD, which ended up with a FG. So, they got 4 more than they should have, but we got 3 right back.

I was more pissed off by the refs letting the Ugag DB's ride our WR's backs with no calls.

AMEN to that. And it went both ways. Tons of no calls on both teams. If they had called it fair, perhaps I wouldn't have been calling for RB's ass to be pulled in the first half and let TB see if he's got any mojo agains UGAg since RB certainly didn't the four years.

Two bad calls did affect the game. The obvious interference against James Johnson may have cost us a TD. To suggest that the whistle should not have blown with guys laying on top of the ball is ludicrous. Are you telling me that coaches should teach guys to stand up and try to pull the ball away from a pile after a fumble and then run away with the ball?

We've played through bad officiating all year (both home and away). Two huge Pass Interference calls cost us a TD. A few questionable spots (especially on the last drive) affected us noticably. And, what can I say about the "fumble." Were they kidding?

But, through all that, we still should have won that game. None of those calls should have mattered. We should have capitalized early on in the endzone, and established more of a rhythm on offense.

Did the refs change the game? Yes.
Should we have won the game anyway? Yes

Now, let's work on fixing these problems and winning the ACC. Like I've always said: Let's forget what's most or least important, and go out there and win! True Jacket fans don't jump ship when things don't go their way!

I hope to see all you guys at Jacksonville. Let's show the nation what kind of dedication we have to our program.
