Dave Braine knew what he was doing with the timing of the extension for Chan. Also, for those thave not already done so, just read between the lines of his inflammatory quotes at the press conference.

I think by the timing, its clearly obvious that the ncaa made Dave aware of what was coming down the pipe. Braine had at least one day to do the right thing and extend CG's contract. That also gave him the opportunity to lambast the Hill in his comments.

I think that DB has zero thoughts or chance of staying thru the year. Even though his office is at great blame for our troubles, at least give him a small amount of credit for taking care of CG before it all hit the fan.
Whether or not he attempts to direct all the blame on the Hill is unknown. For his sake I hope he doesn't.

Probably not too far off - basically we only talked about the extension for a day, day and a half before magically we had other things to discuss

Hey watch some of what you say may very well be true.
We owe DB a lot, look at where our over all program is.
I am one that thinks Chan might not be as bad as a lot think he is.
