Does anybody know why long time Tech guy Brad Roper's son was not recruited at all by Tech?
Like everybody else, I saw that the Buford qb committed to the Ducks yesterday. I don't think grades were an issue since Duke was also after him.

Why do you assume that we didn't?

I would imagine that Kyle Manley shared some insight with him as to why he may or may not go to GT,since they are former teammates. Also,Oregon is more wide open on offense. And,Brad probably didn't leave GT when he did, with the best taste in his mouth.

We offered Roper...but Ingram accepted first.

We also offered Mustain, Stafford, Caudle, Frazer, Ponder, and Stephens....but again Ingram accepted first and we were only taking one QB.

You sort of misquoted me by putting emphasis on "all".

There was nothing sinister about what I meant. Do you know if we did recruit him? I obviously don't.
I don't follow high school football as much as a lot of you guys.

I did run into Brad Roper several times years ago and he seemed like a great upbeat guy. I don't recall what his position on the staff was, and what staff(s) he served on, but he was there for quite some time.
I just would have thought more interest would have been shown by either party.

I read your sentence over and over and you say 'at all' and I don't see how it can be interpreted any other way.

Having said that, also consider that the 'positive' GT fans have a short fuse after fighting negative GT fans on this site all year. The statement you made may be unintentionally negative, but the fact remains that it is very negative.

He WAS recruited by Tech AND offered by Tech. CG said he was going to take the first QB that committed to us out of like 4. Ingram committed first.

The statement's not negative. It's just an ignorant one if Tech did recruit him at all.
Again, I was unaware that we got involved in any way. By the other responses, I see that we did.
Regardless of my choice of words, it was not meant to be critical.
Shoot, there are thousands of other kids with grades that Tech doesn't recruit as well.

Sorry, didn't mean for it to sound mean. But, we did offer him from what I've read.

We also offered Mustain

I know he won't come here, but if Mustain decided to come to Tech, we'd make room. We aren't on his list. I have a feeling he ends up at South Bend.

I do think Ingram is going to develop into a fine quarterback. He's going to put on a little weight and gain some arm strength. Obviously a redshirt next year. I think we look real good at QB going forward. We have several players that are going to have an opportunity to step forward and take control of a veteran team post Reggie.
