I expect more or less the same (not Duke Gaudy numbers), but the defenses remaining, outside of VT, are not much different than than what we have faced over the last 3 games. Latest FEI rankings for remaining opponents' defense, if you're a fan of stats:

UNC:87th
VT: 20th
UVA: 78th
UGA: 59th

GT FEI Ranking Offense: 9th

Hope JT will keep up with the great games and more importantly, the team winning a few of these. I think each game will be close.

As far as our defense....I tried to fudge stats for an hour to make them look decent, but I was not successful.

JT has never gone more than 3 straight games without throwing an interception. He is at 3 straight right now.

His QB rating over the last 3 games are his 3 highest since he's been here (not incl 2 cupcake games).

Hope he can keep it up.

Way to jinx it. Douche.

We're 109th in DFEI. Nothing you can fudge about that.

On a brighter note, JT has been pretty awesome lately. I think he is vastly underrated as a passer. Almost every one of his throws recently has been right on the money, including many that were long throws downfield. If we give him time, he is deadly.

Probably mentioned elsewhere but his rating in the Duke game was the highest by any QB this season.

I think we'll be able to run on UNC, and we need to limit possessions by controlling the clock. We have to keep our defense on the sidelines as much as possible to have a chance in this game. If JT is 5/9 for 100 yds passing on Saturday, that might be a good thing.

We need to score on every possession and have the ball last.
I crunched the numbers a thousand different ways and ran countless monte carlo simulations but could not escape the conclusion that in order to completely negate our expected performance on defense, we need to score on every possession, have a positive turnover margin equal to the number of UNC possessions plus one, score three additional times and have UNC field a kickoff on the one yard line but down the ball in their own endzone at least once per half.

The refs won't see the UNC player down the ball on the kickoff.

Don't forget we have to go for two every time as well.

Huh? We've played 8 games and he has 1 INT. Does not compute. Must be at least a streak of 4 in there. Looks like he opened up the season with 4 straight games before the INT against Miami.

He's at 55.2% completion. I think that would be the highest by a Tech QB since I started at Tech in '05 (which is ridiculous).

And that one pick was a 4th and 10 desperation throw at the end of the game with 4 defenders in his face. A pick is still a pick, however.

Imagine what his numbers could be if we had a receiver with separation ability. I did like the idea of running stop and go routes. JT's gotta have more time for those to be successful.

WR's from my vantage point are getting open and separation. It is easy to see from the endzone. I am sure on the field not so much.

He ran their offense pretty well. I'm surprised that they haven't done better this season.
Duke is not horrible this year. Would have probably gone into OT with Louisville on the road if hadn't roughed the kicker and beat ND in Southbend.

I won't be surprised if they keep the game close against VT in Durham on Saturday. As much as I'd like to see Duke win that game, I'm not sure I'd want to be going to Blacksburg to face the Hokies the following week. We might need VT to be a little over-confident when we face them.
