I mean, there was PLENTY of opportunity to not run it out of the end zone and get the ball at the 25. Surely our above the line coaches are telling them this, right?

I would actually support trying to run one back when the offense is faltering. The percentage play is to take it at the 25. But, when you can’t get fifty yards in a half trying to see if Tobias or Juanyeh bust a long return is a risk worth taking.

I completely agree with you. It is odd that many say, "Our offense is so bad, why not take the chance of a long runback?" My attitude is, "Our offense is so bad, we can't afford to waste any free yards." And our special teams are not very good (what happened to Juanyeh's electricity we saw so much last year? Hasn't been the same since the season-opening punt flub at Clemson), so the odds of a runback are really pretty thin.
