was the interception thrown right to the Fresno player that went for a TD with 14 seconds left in the 1st half." I agree completely. It was the turning point.
King said this directly to Coach Gailey. Coach answered "we called timeout after we saw what coverage they were in on the run. The corner hadn't been playing very well & they were in a 2 deep. We thought we had a shot to make something happen. If the play wasn't there, then you just throw it away & we run out the clock. But if you throw the ball straight to the other guy, you can't win that way." Perhaps Coach Gailey has finally had enough of Suggs.
Pardon me for saying this, & ya'll know I've tried to look on the bright side for Suggs all year, but I hope AJ never sets foot in a real game again for Tech. 2 for 7 for 40 yds with 2 ints in 1/2 of a college football game. Tech never ran more than 5 plays in any series in the 1st half vs Fresno ST. Pitiful.

Did Kim say anything to the affect that our QB had already thrown it right to the opponent on the screen and in umpteen games already this year?
Why would he take a chance with him in that situation?
By the way, did Kim ask him if we thought about substituting any DL?; FS ran 52+ plays in the first half. Well, I guess our 2 FR, an 2 SO, DL are well conditioned and can handle it. After all, that is what they do in the pros.

Also, when that play occurred, KK must have said, "unbelievable!!'' 2 or 3 times. I could hear the disgust in his voice.

GTnut,
Gailey's saying he thought Suggs would throw it way away & not straight to the Bulldog.
But as you pointed out, Gailey should've known better than to think that of AJ.

AJ gave away 10 point in the first half. On our first possession he threw his first pass directly to a FSU defensive player who was no further than five yards from AJ. No Tech player had a chance to catch it as it was thrown directly to the defender. I hope I have seen my last of AJ as well, I am sure he is a fine young man but when any pressure is present it seems that his mind goes blank. That is the only way to rationalize him throwing the ball to a defender just five yards away. What a downer. The future looks like a rerun of Pepper Rodgers and Bill Lewis. This man
simply can't motivate his players to get excited about playing football. Teams of all sports take on the personality of the coach, as we can relate many examples-John Thompson was an in your face BB coach and so was his team as they played with a chip on their shoulder but they also beat butt big time. Bear Bryant was tough as nails and he often said that his player didn't enjoy football during the week{speaking of the demands he put on his players} but he went on to say that his boys had a damn great time on Saturdays. We have a WUSS
ffor a coach and our team is not physically tough.
Do you guess their could be some connection their.

A.J.'s there for one reason only (and a good one)- the education. He'll keep trottin' out on the field and doing the same ole dumb stuff as long as the coaches keep trottin' 'im out there but I don't think he could really care less. The jury's still terribly out on Bilbo. Apparently, his lack of motivation in practice and skull sessions has kept him out of contention for this year. I'm starting to believe that Damarius IS partly to blame for the embarrassing set of "kiddie plays" that he's prepared to run. Maybe this is why we've recruited three good HS QBs this year. We need a fierce competitor, someone who desperately wants to win
and won't accept defeat, out there fighting for the team. Hollings as an example. These guys don't show me that. Especially A.J.

Well, Bellyseries, that's about the worst 1st half I've ever seen a GT QB play. Only 1 thing could've made it worse; if he'd have missed the TD pass, which was the only thing he did right.

gnats, how is it you missed the 178 yards passing in one half by Bilbo who repeatedly got gushing praise from not only John Cooper but our own Kim King?! If you didn't see a level of athleticism that we rarely see at GT, except for that of the opposition, then u sir are not paying attention. More PT during the season while AJ was obviously struggling would have surely reduced DB's errors(like the one's Joe made in his first YEAR), and would have just as surely increased his already impressive number of very accurate long and vertical passes. We heard Kim King during the game. He was very strong in his feelings for Bilbo and he made statements to the affect that you can't expect a redshirt freshmen like him not to make mistakes when he hasn't been given the playing time during the year!

I felt for the first time this season I heard a "prominent" alumnus of Georgia Tech making some very strong statements as to this coaches decisions. I'm was happy to hear it and hope he has said the same behind those GTECH doors!

Kim King loves Tech and Tech football. He is very knowledgeable and influential in the Tech community of football and rightly so. I trust him wholeheartedly to use his influence to better Tech football.

I hope so, too, birthday boy!! He was really shocked at that stupid play at end of half, too!
