Kansas, with their 76-39 victory today over Nebraska --now stands at 23-88-3 all-time in the series. Their 40-15 victory in 2005 was their first win against the Huskers since 1968.

48 points at the half --69 at the end of the 3rd --572 yards of total offense --scored touchdowns on 10 straight possessions --racked up the most points ever scored on a Nebraska football team (by anyone) --had six TD passes.

With two wins now in three years there must be some satisfaction in a little payback for this:

We need to remember that Nebraska is going to be looking for a new coach at seasons end too. More than likely, its going to be Paul Johnson. We need to stay one step ahead of other schools and not be dilly dallying in long searches like we did with Gailey.

When I saw that score I was thinking there were probably stretches that lasted a decade where Kansas didn't score 76 points against Nebraska. The rule limiting scholarships to 85 is really changing football.

I think they're more likely to hire Turner Gill out of Buffalo because of his Nebraska connection. He's done a pretty good job at Buffalo considering their longstanding position in the bottom 10 of 1A.
