Kennard was one of my favorites and he gave us 4 seasons. He says only good things about GT. Wish he stayed, but zero issues with him.

I am not that knowledgeable, but I think it was hard to evaluate him because he played on some of our worst defenses ever. He was a bright spot. Would have been cool to see him play under Santucci.

There were certainly flashes of it. He was the one that forced the fumble against Miami that led to the miracle win. I feel had he played under Stantucci instead of Thacker/Sherrer he would have had similar results here as well.

In Kennard's defense, he wasn't adequately coached here. I wish Santucci had a year with him... but the defensive trash we had in here before was not getting 11.5 sacks out of him.
I'm also very surprised he won this award. Several defensive players were far more impactful.

Kennard was a big play waiting to happen either for his team or the other team. Even this year I believe he still had a bunch of ill-timed personal foul penalties which was a pattern while at GT.
We needed more than just an edge rusher. We were able to get/keep Romello Height, Jordan van den Berg, and Thomas Gore with the NIL money we didn't spend on Kennard. Go check their stats. Sometimes you need quantity and we got that this time. Hopefully in the future we can have a roster full and can pick and choose impact guys like this.

I think this is less about NIL and more about not having to sit out a year when you transfer. Although you could call it two sides of the same coin I guess.
