First, let me announce I don't know squat, but I also don't think I'm stupid. (For now let's just focus on the "no inside info" part of that equation.)

As we have watched 2007 football recruiting, GT has always had at least a couple of likely ships in their back pocket. We felt good about {name the big name commitment here} before it came out. It always seems we were talking about WHEN the commitment would be announced more than IF.

It's more than kinda nice to be running downhill.

Anyway, I think we have one last likely commit in our back pocket from our A list. I think he will pull the trigger (with our blessing) very soon. And it is more than kinda nice.

For the last 1 to 3 ships, I think we are running even or uphill on our A list. This is not a negative comment, as the guys in the strata we are talking are pursued hard by all sorts of glitzy programs, and they are all running even or uphill when landing them.

I hope we are able to stay on our A list for 1 or 2 more of them after this guy. That has less to do with the quality of the guys on our B list, and more to do with simple position balancing. I'd like 3 guys on defense to come next. But the key word is "hope", not "expect".

And that is really back to what it has been since Pepper Rodgers coached here.

lets put it this way...we will not have space to sign all of the 'A' list players that will want to come here....particulalry since we cannot wait until Feb. to know their answer.

NONE of the commits to follow are not on our A list.

Bittersweet situation.

Red, I Think We Are Differing In Definition Only

What is the A list and what is the B list?

I argue guys on our B list right now were on our A list earlier this year, or are good enough to be on the A list if their positions were different.

For convenience, I am projecting as our A list: Morgan, Tucker, Peters, Burnett, and Edwards. Mebbe add Green. My guess is that we are downhill for one, uphill for two or three, and even on one or two.

If you think we will turn away people from that list of 5, then that's more than nice. I cannot imagine turning away any of those 6, even if we have to start handing out medical ships to healthy boys. And not everyone is healthy.

Techbert,

Now that's a lot of thinking, and I'm glad to see someone is gifted in that category.

I surely hope you are much better at that "thinking" than I am. Matter of fact, folk around Rome here have even offered to pay me just to not think and leave it to more capable people.

Keep up the good work there Techbert.

Recruiting: Correct me if I'm wrong, but it was/is my understanding that we only have one more to go. Is this right or am I in err? Could it be that I got thought thinking again..............?
