Four ACC teams ranked in Week 1 AP Poll
September 8, 2009 1:31 PM

Virginia Tech dropped to No. 14, but the Hokies are still leading the ACC pack in the latest Top 25 rankings. Georgia Tech checked in at No. 15, followed by No. 19 North Carolina and No. 20 Miami. FSU dropped out of the rankings, but even Boston College got some votes after it's thumping of Northeastern.

For a conference that took a hit in the public perception after the first week, having four ranked teams doesn't exactly spell doom. It does, however, indicate that with Virginia Tech's rapid decent out of the top 10, the ACC's chances at playing for the national title dropped right with the Hokies.

The section you highlighted is actually true. One team in the ACC has a much reduced chance of playing for the BCS Championship (therefore, the chances of the ACC having a team in the game have dropped).

That's just a dumb statement to make this early!

I wonder if she thinks at least one ACC team will make it to the ACC Championship game?

Hopefully we'll just blow out VATech and people would think we could've whipped Alabama  Therefore we'd still be in the hunt (assuming a perfect season)

Maybe Contact is right; maybe I assumed on first reading that she meant that the ACC's chances at playing for a NC "dropped" as in "completely fell through," but she just meant that the chances had been reduced. In that case, I am not as shocked by her statement.

Man I need to get a job and stop reading this crap all day.

Wait a minute, I have a job.:ugh:

Oh crap!

Virginia Tech's rapid decent out of the top 10,
She does release that they lost, correct? They actually dropped less then Oklahoma did. No one in the top should have a loss after week 1. I don't see how it's any more rapid then anyone else who lost.

Besides, the polls are complete **** anyways.

Once you realize she misspelled 'descent', you can infer the quality of her statement itself...

F Dinich. Really, who cares what she writes? It will have no affect on anything other than the retards that choose to read her dribble. If we win out, We'll be top 4. Maybe we wont get in the BCS title game, but we'll be close.

Heather's credibility is directly proportional to how favorable her article is to Georgia Tech.

To a lot of these people, yes. But I've known/said she was a moron since last year. I just stopped reading her garbage.

Still can't understand all the reactions she gets. There is nothing wrong or even controversial about anything in that post. As a league our only top 10 ranked team and the most respected program nationally just lost on national TV. Even if Tech wins out, that loss will hurt us from a SOS perspective and we don't play anyone who is currently ranked ahead of us. It will hurt us in the polls if we're good enough to worry about it. I'd say she's 100% correct in her comments. Doesn't mean someone from the league can't get into the national picture, but it just became that much harder.
