Also praises ACC recruiting in general as strong and approaching SEC quality.

Georgia Tech picked up OL Nick McCrae and OL Omoregie Uzzi, but their best player in my opinion is LB Steven Sylvester. Paul Johnson did a good job in a short time and probably put together the most underrated class in the ACC. In the long run this will come out to be a better class than everyone has rated it.

This from the guy who said that Emmitt Smith was to small and slow and would never be an impact player at the college level.

You know what they say, "If all else fails, immortality can always be assured by a spectacular failure."

Methinks thou does confuse Tom Lemming with Max Emfinger who called Emmitt Smith a "turd" when he was coming out of high school in Pensacola. Lemming was pretty high on Emmitt.

That guy is a horrible writer. Not only is his style highschoolish, but his first two sentences contradict each other.

Obviously an idjit. Thank you for pointing this out for our weak-minded brethren.

Yeah, but he could use that stuff to screw up Mr. Spock on Star Trek.

The ACC did very, very well recruiting this year, about equal to what the conference was able to do last year. This class, however, was not as good as the last two years' classes, but the ACC is becoming a competitor to the SEC, although they're not there yet.

So what exactly is he trying to say here?

Oh wow that's horrid. Lol. Dude needs an editor something fierce.

Maybe he did miss on Emmitt (or maybe he didn't per the other poster), but EVERYBODY misses on LOTS and LOTS of prospects.

Pro talent Scouts miss on first round draft choices ALL THE TIME. Scout.com & Rivals miss on people ALL THE TIME.

Therefore to cite missing on a single player as a reason why we should disregard everything he says (especially about our recruiting class) doesn't make much sense.

Johnson recruits to a specific system with very specific criteria. At Navy he proved he could get results in wins and losses well above his recruiting rankings that were in the lowest percentile. And do it without redshirting.

Now, he only had a month this year to recruit, and I think our rankings WILL go up. We have already have one 4-star guy aboard for '09.

Also realize the services docked the '08 class in part because of sheer numbers. Based on avg. star rankings they would have been #32 on Scout.

This class is plenty good for a coach like Johnson.

Just my $.02.
