respectfully, we appeared to be very out-talented on D. I'm not sure playing VT, Miami, Clemson, and the mutts is gonna fix that.

We'll see. I think we might see some defensive upperclassmen lose their jobs before the season is over, because I think our freshman and sophomore defensive classes are the fastest and most athletic we've had since the Tenuta days. Carpenter, Oliver, Askew, Thomas, King, etc. look pretty good - they'll just need more time to develop.

I don't buy some of the more pessimistic views of players "quitting". The youth and 2nd stringers are always eager to get out there and show what they've got. Hopefully Woody can turn heads in the right direction.
