Annual happenings in the CCG era:

complete:
1. Upset on the road over a team that turns out to be overrated - VT
2. Absolute asskicking - CU

incomplete:
3. Loss to a crappy team in mindboggling fashion
4. Loss to UGAy

Is this team really any different than the past 4 years? There's been a lot of talk about that being the case, but that still hasn't been proven yet

Yes. In past years we would have lost to MD. While I am seriously upset about the game, we plainly lost to a superior, well prepared and more physical team.

Your incompletes you mention won't happen. I hope. If they don't happen, the proof will be in that this team is different.

Disagree, we beat both scUM and Auburn on the road last year. You can make the case for scUM being overrated last year, but I think Auburn was a very solid team last year that we beat in impressive fashion.

For now, yes they are. There are still four very important conference games to be played. If this team can just forget what happened last night (put the game film on the shelf and save it for later), move forward and take care of Miami, then absolutely, this team will be different than the previous four. The 'mindboggling fashion' game again this year appears to be @NC State. Win those two games and I expect GT will take care of business against @UNC and vs Duke.

Last night was a whipping against a team that needed it more than GT did, and they played like it. Both sides of the line were dominated by Clemson and that's why GT was soundly defeated. It hurts to lose like that, but it was the one game left on the schedule where a loss could be forgiven by taking care of business the rest of the way. That time is now here ...take care of business the rest of the way and perhaps get a shot at redemption against the Tigers.
