Let\'s put everything in proper perspective....
1) We got our a*s kicked by a very good UGA team that will probably go on to win the SEC and might even have a shot at the MNC.
2) We played very badly. We were not motivated. We screwed up routine things, like hiking the ball and returning kickoffs. UGA outplayed us in every phase and they wanted it more than we did.
3) We were whipped at the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball. We have a weak DL. This was the case in 2001 and continues to hurt us. Our OL is good but needs to get better.
4) We ended the year at 7-5, the exact same record as last year. No better. No worse.
5) The fans feel terrible. The players feel terrible. So do the coaches.
It's time to put this behind us. Those of you that want Gailey out need to get over it. It aint gonna happen this year. He's going to get at least another year and then maybe another. I don't know if he's the man for the job. He may not be. But he deserves a chance to set things right this off-season as he sees fit. He inherited an underachieving team and had alot of injuries to deal with. We have some holes on the DL that need fixing. We need to resolve our QB situation.
We had an up and down year. It wasn't as good as any of us wanted. But it could have been worse. We did win some games against teams that were supposed to beat us. Sometimes, when you have a coaching transition, you get games like what happened with UGA. Hopefully, that will never happen again.
But we aint 1-10, folks. We're 7-5. We have alot of room to improve. Let's see what Gailey does in the off-season and then move on from there.
