If BC were to win the ACCCG and beat, say UVA. Who would go to the Orange Bowl?

Could we possibly sneak in if we won out?

Would the Orange Bowl be obligated to take the loser of the ACCCG?

Relax Wesley, and sing along with me....

"Oh, there's no place like home for the holidays".........

Then the OB would be free to pick any BCS-eligible team.

With a best case record of 9-3 even qualifying as a BCS team would be unlikely. On top of that the OB would have to select us, so I'd say the chances are virtually zero.

Absolutely not.

They would probably take the next best ACC team, though.

I see no reason to assume that. They would take whoever they thought would sell tickets and be a good TV draw.

Hawaii gets in if they finish ahead of another conference's champion in the BCS Standings.

Also, they will not take an ACC team with all those one loss really good teams unless its VT, who somehow finishes 10-2 (7-1) and does not play for the ACC title, meaning UVA would either beat them and go 7-1 or even go 8-0 in conf. I don't see it.

I do see BC losing next Thursday night in Blacksburg though.

I thought the OB was OBLIGATED to select one big east team and one acc team...no?

If the conference champion of those 2 leagues do not play for the BCS title, the Orange Bowl's likely tie ins are ACC and Big East. If BC or USF plays for the National Champioship, lets say its USF..... it would be chose by the Orange Bowl: most likely ACC Champion vs. at large.

A few years back, the ornage bowl matched a Big Ten team against a Pac-10 team. USC vs. Iowa.

Hawaii has to finish in the top 16 AND finish ahead of another conference's champion.

I don't see them doing that right now.

OSU
BC
Oregon
LSU
OU
USF

are all ranked ahead of Hawaii.

True, Kyle, I did leave out the "finish in the Top 16" thing. I wish they would have lost to SJSU Friday night and gotten the argument over with.

You have to respect any team that can go undefeated in a season, no matter who you play, but IMO, Hawaii just does not deserve a spot in the BCS, especially this season, when there are so many good teams with a loss.

The Big East thing ended many years ago. They are obligated to take the ACC champion, unless the champion goes to the BCS title game. If that happens they can invite whoever they like.
