Let\'s take a candid look @ our very good Ga recruits

we picked up this yr. Nobody's complaining 'bout what we did get this yr whatsoever. The only bad connotation has been that we didn't get more of these type players from Ga & that's a good sign. Quite a good group of future contributors to GT. Let's take a candid & objective look at these young guys:
1) Reggie Ball-simply put, the best athlete in Ga. Dynamite speed for a QB, 4.46 @ Nike camp, & an arm that can throw div1a. Easier to teach drop back mechanics than scrambling ability. Needs to rs, but will push for field time in 2yrs.
2) Avery Roberson-may be the fastest S we've had in a decade. Fast enough to be a big CB. 4 yr starter @ S. Could be a 3 yr starter for GT, if he RSes. Big p/u for us. Can definitely start in div1a.
3) Phillip Wheeler-a real player. Started @ LB as a So on state champ team & then 2 yr 1st team all-state. Hybrid LB/DE a la Fox. May not play in '03 cause of all the Sr LBs, but a much needed OLB. Really could be a 3-4 yr starter. Very high potential. May play Sts as a Fr. Will play a lot for GT.
4) Mansfield Wrotto-massive OT get for Jackets. Will rs & will develope. Should be seeing the field if not starting in '05. A good one to have in the system.
5) Sam Williams-has the uncoachable, SPEED, & therefore will find a place @GT. Will need a rs to pinpoint if he can cover as a CB. If not, he will move to WR. Resemblance to Campbell lingers in mind. If he has the guts, will play a lot in '05. Must develope so don't look for him soon, but could contribute for 3 yrs.
6) Joe Gaston-not sold yet. Speed & agility good. If he likes STs may become a STer in '03 & for 4 yrs. GT needs an STer like him as they see the field an ave. of every 4.5 plays. Nate Burton type.
