Let's take a trip down Memory Lane

Well no matter what people think about Chan, you should be banned for linking to that board IMO.

I can't believe they are knocking Gailey for an emotional speech after a comeback against Miami.

What happens to bbuzzoff when/if Gailey ever goes? Was it created solely for him?

It was created solely for him. I imagine if he goes and we suck, they claim victory and shut down, to keep other people from blaming them for the state of our program, and if he goes and we don't suck, they stick around to slander the next coach.

Would some one
pls tell me what Golden Tornado said that was incorrect?

Fraid I can't answer that, as the thread is private.

Just click the link lfd posted, it's all there.

Clearly.

Here it is for those of you who can't read BBoff.

1. The Spike, followed by the looks Nix and Gailey exchanged, like WTF?

2. The Throwaway - he's doing good guys, this was all in one series

3. The "beam me out of here Scotty" look during 51-7 with the nearest human on the bench 30 yards from him.

4. National TV audience, big game last Thurs. night vs. VPI, big question marks over CG's head, we come out and prior to the first play from scrimmage............call timeout. A new first in NCAA ineptness, even for dumbass.

5. The sideline route vs. Fresno before halftime by Gailey and Suggs

6. The interview(s) following Flunkgate when Braine and Gailey tried spinning it to the other. Comical.

7. Gailey calling out the Utah player after Utah player said Tech quit. He never addressed the fact: Tech Quit.

8. In his first game, Tech defense stops Clemson. Clemson out of timeouts, runs the FG unit on. Gailey calls timeout. Clemson runs offense back onto the field. Clemson socres Touchdown vs. FG. Clemson fans learn simple math and go nuts. Clemson takes momentum into the lockeroom and proceeds to win game.

9. Gailey's interviews - multiple, trying to explain with all of his offensive background why it is so difficult to get the ball to Calvin Johnson.

10. Any one of the annual, repetitive Georgia quotes " no one cares about you but this team", "dont listen to fans", "only one of twelve games", etc. etc.

This ought to get us started, but Gailey's epitaph is being written, and it is quite comical to think about it. I almost forgot in my post game report to mention the timeout the other night - BEFORE THE GAME HAD STARTED!

1. Nix's fault, not Gaileys, except maybe Gailey's for hiring Nix (or for giving him the playcalling duties, at the request of the fans/AD/etc)

2. Combination of Reggie's fault, and ****ty ACC officials who got the down marker wrong, and the Samford Stadium board operator who clearly had an agenda, except maybe Gailey's for starting Reggie over true fresmman Taylor Bennett, although after this season I think we can say Gailey was right to (gag) start Reggie.

3. Two or three fumbled kick off returns inside your own redzone vs a top 5 national team will do that to you.

4. That was pretty damn inept, hehe. Who's ineptness, I'm not sure, but top of the list are Taylor, Bond, and Chan.

5. That was astoundingly Suggs' fault. Chan took a time out, explained clearly to Suggs to throw the ball away if they dropped into cover 2. Suggs dropped back, saw base cover 2, and threw it right to the safety. Dumbass.

6. I missed that one, but do not contest that it was likely pretty comical. In either case, flunkgate was clearly that insane bitch they put in charge of helping the staff with player academics, who's secret agenda was to get as many of them to flunk out as possible.

7. Tech quit. Personally, I think they were all stoned that game, but I have no evidence to support that claim.

8. That was pretty darn wretched.

9. It was difficult to get the ball to Calvin Johnson because Reggie couldn't hit the broad side of a barn. If Chan was the kind of guy who'd throw a player under the bus on occasion, he wouldn't have had to keep manufacturing false explanations to the media.

10. Got a link to any of those quotes, with context?

Some of the 10 were easy to hang on Chan's head, but a fair chunk of them speak to the general ineptitude of our whole program, which is only somewhat Chan's fault. If Goldentornado's point was "Gosh, we sure are inept!" then yeah, I'll buy it, but if his point was "Chan sucks" then his post only marginally fits the bill, and he should have picked a different ten.

#1. Gailey oked the spike.

#2. Can Gailey or Ball or Nix not count?

#3. Just forget the 51-7 that was horrible by any imagination. The team quit on Gailey.

#4. What can you say, we have seen all the TO's burned in the 1st few minutes of many games.

#5. ? I don't remember that one.

#6. Yep it was funny so they blamed someone else.

#7. I said Tech quit before the Utah player said it. Gailey didn't help with his comments.

#8. It was wretched.

#9. Agree

#10. Gailey said it I heard it but don't remember what the thread was but it was widely quoted.

Most if not all can be laid at Gaileys feet.

#1, no he didn't, #2, could the officials and the board operator and stadium announcer not count either? #3 yup, #4, yup, #5, trust me, and incidentally that's why we started Bilbo the second half, and Reggie the next year, because Chan was so pissed at Suggs he refused to let him on the field, #6, they blamed the lady who's direct, sole job description was to keep people from flunking out, and who instead rewrote her job description to be try to make sure they flunk out #7, I said Tech was stoned out of their minds 10 minutes into the first quarter :P, 8 and 9 we're good on, and 10) is a mis-characterization by loose quoting.

I'm especially not budging on #6. Carol Moore tried to flunk my wife out, because she (Moore, not my wife, heh) was an asinine bitch who's only pleasure in life is from other people's pain.

I will not argue that all things can be laid at the feet of a Head Coach, seeing as how that's part of the head coach's job description, no matter who the head coach is. My bone to pick is whether you're laying it at him directly or indirectly. There's lots of blame to go around, dude, and swapping out one guy doesn't fix all of 1-10 above.

It might fix some of 1-10, and that might be a good reason to fire Gailey, but thinking that a different head guy will magically fix every problem in our entire program is pretty silly.

I'm not sure why at the end of #4 he referenced a "first for NCAA ineptness" when the same thing was done by another team on Thursday night football a week or two before this.

'cause it's olf foggy. You're right the announcers mentioned that several other teams have done the same thing this year. The problem is you get a 15 second clock for that first play instead of 25.
