Re: Let\'s talk football

The last injury report I read had their best cover guy out with a hip pointer. I've been looking for updates, but certainly wouldn't mind him taking some time off to rest and heal.

I will say the obvious again to all. We stop the pass and specifically to do that means disguising alignments to get at Whitehurst. They run the no-huddle with a smart QB who throws well to a corps of talented receivors. We do that and RB will be good at his word. Nuf said!

We will find out what is real and what is ...

For the last six months I've heard nothing but negative comments re GT football. Either the coach should be replaced or the players didn't have what it takes to win or the colors didn't match the preconceived notions of certain fans.

Tech was supposed to 0-4 after the first four games and that has not come about. We stood toe to toe with FSU and that wasn't supposed to happen. To most, Tech football had fallen to it's depths and yet there are those who EXPECT a win against CU!

The truth is, the Tech Football Team is loaded with Heart and Desire to win in spite of the odds and the naysaying no-fans of Tech. All I want to see is their best effort against the tiggers. Practice makes perfect and each game from here to NOV. 29, 2003 is practice for an ass kicking.

Let\'s talk football

Enough with the pissing contests.
We have our biggest game of the year on Saturday. This is the first game all year that we can legitimately say we SHOULD win.

So what's the big story for Saturday? This Clemson no-huddle?

Whitehurst might have some impressive numbers the last couple of games but against a defense like ours I think he is outclassed.

Bowden is yet again trying to save his job, and I would like nothing more than to see another Bowden forced out of coaching and into the broadcast booth.

Hopefully we can open up the offense a bit more and really put up some points. I wouldn't mind seeing a little more of ACE, though PJ has done a great job.

If the play-calling looks like it did against Auburn, I think this will be the first Clemson game in a WHILE that isn't even close.

Thoughts?

The counter to that is this team seems to really be on the same page with each other and with the coaches. The "us against the world" factor may keep them geeked up and avoid the letdown.

I would love nothing more than to pound them with our O line and control the clock.

Re: Let\'s talk football

Thanks CDK,

I posted in the other chain that Clem's rushing stats haven't been all that hot even after Furman and MTSU. If by no huddle, TB plans to all but abandon the run in order to tire us down I think he'll be burned.

I see some semblance of a 3-4 D to keep our guys fresh and blitzes from the LB/CB to drill Whitehurst.

RB needs to continue to see all the receivers on the field. Smith's the man, but Curry had some great catches lately and should keep the Clem D honest.
