Tony Cole, the former University of Georgia basketball player who made headlines during his UGA career by accusing coach Jim Harrick and his son, assistant coach Jim Harrick Jr., of academic fraud, is in the news again - this time in Chicago, where he is being blamed for the resignation of the chief financial officer for Cook County, Ill.

According to reports in the Chicago Sun-Times, Cole was recently fired from his $61,000 a year job as a human resources assistant with Cook County after officials discovered he failed to disclose past criminal convictions on his job application.

Cole’s boss, county chief financial officer Donna Dunnings, was asked to resign last week after news broke that she had twice bailed Cole out of a Chicago jail following recent arrests for violating a protection order against an ex-girlfriend that he pleaded guilty to punching in the face.

I wonder if he will get Blagovich's lawyer? :laugher:

Whoa!!!... we're missing one of the very best parts!

Per the Chicago tribune April 19, 2009:

"A source familiar with Cole's work at the county—where he quickly ascended from administrative assistant to a ($61k per annum) human resources job at the highway department—said Cole bragged about his "direct access to Donna and the (County Board) president—he was over there all the time" and talked about playing basketball with (County Board president) Todd Stroger."

Ok...... here's the good part...... What do you suppose that Cole was doing for a living before entering the obviously easy entry and very highly forgiving world of Cook County public service...???

Ugay's Tony Cole was a busboy in a Chicago steak house!

And to think, some people say that a Ugay education (or even a portion of one, as Cole enjoyed) won't do anything for you, but Cole's busboy career obviously showed the nay-sayers & doubters a thing or two.

How totally appropriate is that....:laugher:

...some people just belong in jail --do not pass go, but go directly to jail.
