Surprised they fell that far but I can't say it isn't warranted. I do find it amusing, however, that UGA is supposedly great for beating Clemson 10-3, yet the same people rewarding them for that win have basically acknowledged that Clemson isn't that good.
 
NC State is the highest ranked ACC team in the AP poll at #23. Unranked in the Coaches Poll.

No.
Mind you, Northern Illinois got beat by Wyoming and then Michigan left skidmarks on them. Even a win where we got pushed to a two-point try would look bad.
We'd have to win four or five straight just to get votes. Look at the schedule ahead
Pitt (who has a loss to Western Michigan)
Duke (who is still Duke, even though, like Pitt, they are 3-1).
Virginia Tech. 3-1, maybe the best resume of the teams ahead.
Virginia. 2-2.

We're not going to play a currently ranked team again until mid-November.
Beating those teams may not sway a lot of voters because they'll just say, "God, the ACC sucks."
I know some of the folks who vote. That's what they'll think.
Just win. Worry about polls later.
 
Two ACC teams are undefeated for the season so far.
Wake is one.
BC is the other.

Louisville.
Syracuse.
NC State
Virginia Tech
Pitt
Duke

While the ACC isn't covering itself in glory, it is wide open.

The Ga State thing is a legit beef

Paying players isn't a legit beef, no one knows how a kid is gonna develop from age 18 to 23

No one knows who is gonna get injured

No one knows who is gonna plateau or take a step back when everyone is better after leaving HS

Also, paying players isn't like Steroids, paying a Guy doesn't make him run faster, doesn't make him stronger , nor does it make him a better FB player in any way

You can be like Texas and pay players and still come up short vs a Program on their Level that isn't known for paying players

Money didn't make Harbaugh be equal to Saban, so why would money make an unpredictable 18 yr old a better FB player than the next Guy that does everything correct but doesn't get paid

I guess what I'm saying is that going from HS to college - Money is a lesser predictor of Talent developing than going from College to the Pros
 
It appears that Wake Forest is the cream of the crop right now. Followed by NC State. Time will tell, but the ACC is wide open.
Polls should be banned until October 15.
