I believe those are the ones he is having difficulty learning. I think if he could grasp the running plays he would have been starting.
If you look at the packages he has they are ALL throwing and qb sweeps and sneaks. It appears the running packages are what he does not have and those are just as important.
If a Freshman qb comes in and can grasp those I think they will be starting.

Good post law. And I remember all of the doubts I had about Joe Ham as a freshman. Too many turnovers that cost us opportunities in several games that year. Of course, that's why I'm not a coach and just get to gripe and complain about them

But you have to remember where we were coming from when Joe started. First of all, we didn't have expectations of a winning season and bowl gid. Second who else did we have? Brandon Shaw was just as inexperienced w/o the upside.
I'm not arguing that the experience may have been good for Bilbo, but I don't see the situations being that similar.

Guys, Bilbo has not shown he can even take a snap under center!!!.
You would think this is a joke, but it is not!
With Joe, we could run some offense. Right now, Bilbo can't even take a snap under center (he didn't in high school). Think about that.
I agree 100% that we have tremendous issues with our qb play and the fact that the coaches have not gotten a qb ready to play, but Bilbo will have to make tremendous strides between now and next fall if we are going to have a chance if he is the starter.
He has a tremendous arm, nice athleticism, and seems like a good kid. But we need a heck of a lot more than that between now and Auburn.

Bilbo may not be able to take the snap but it seems like he can rocket the ball 60 yards on a rope, in stride to a wide receiver....As much as i love Hamilton, he couldnt even do that

Bilbo has "Vick-like" skills but if you don't play him and give him the experience do you think he'll ever be what the Hamilton finished product was?

The difference between Bilbo and Suggs is Bilbo has so much potential to improve and learn the game. Suggs has not and NEVER will, bottom line!
