Looking ahead: 7 wins should EASILY be attained

We are 2-1 right now.

Wins against UVA, NCST, Maryland, Duke and UNC should be attained. No excuses. That's 7 wins.

Then all we have too do is steal one against Clemson, Miami, VT, and UGA.

We win two of these and we are in business.

A 7 win season this year against this weak ACC is NOT Good.
 
I think we'll beat Clemson straight up, no questions. Miami will not be a steal. That's nine. Virginia Tech is going to be massive amounts of difficult - but entirely doable. If not, I think we pull off the victory in Athens to finish the Mutts (By this point disappointing) season.

Perhaps - perhaps - I am being a little too optimistic, but I honestly can see us coming back home for turkey leftovers with double digits in the win column.

you know what stinks...I was looking at next years schedule and we trade NCState for Boston College.

Yeah, that isn't a good trade, b/c BC is a whole lot better than NCST is and is very tough in close games.
 
The key to BC will be keeping it from being a close game late. BC nearly dropped today's game against BYU - not a cupcake team, but not a powerhouse either.

If we don't finish with 7 wins this season, we don't deserve a bowl game - not even the tire bowl.

Miamaa is in total disary. As is NC State and Dook. Maryland and UVA just look awful. and WF is no powerhouse.

No question we should be capable of a Clemins, VT, or UGAy upset as well...

I agree someone should be shot, but it won't be 'us'. It'll be the man in charge.

just remember this....only 2 teams out of 119 (+/-) D1A teams this year will win every game they are supposed to win.

Well here's out typical counting the chickens post early in the season. Wins over UVA, NCS are not guaranteed. And Maryland is a whole lot better than y'all think. We are not WV on offense and regardless they started to figure them out in the second half. Maryland is going to be very very tough.

But we have the chance to win 10 games this year, no doubt. I think Clemson is a loss away personally, but I'm hoping we can finally get it done at VPI and/or Miami again at home. We need to beat UGA, so we could win 10.

But come on, let's enjoy the games week to week. We haven't even proven yet that we won't have our stupid down game against the sisters of the poor, er UVA.
 
midatlantech, I agree. All I'm trying to say is that there isn't any reason why a 7 win season should be considered a good mark anymore.

Ok, I'm with you. Except that I prefer to measure a season's success based on that season's schedule, returning players and other intangibles.

A 7 win season for just about any Tech season of the last 40 years is in fact a good mark. This season we could win more, but to do so would mean to win every game we're favored in and at least one more that we're not. Historically we don't do that very often, so I'm not going to measure us just on wins accordingly.

Someone who thinks that only two teams in the country win the games they are supposed to thinks I lack brain power. :laugher::laugher::laugher:

You do realize that you can go 1-11 and if you were only favored to win one game you won all the games you were supposed to don't you?

Can't you guys learn how to argue without throwing out stupid one liners. Knox, if you didn't want the "go to buzz off remark"... don't ask questions like the person has no idea what he's talking about. Its possible to ask the question without insulting him.

I would like to know the answer myself.
