Begin a little vacation tomorrow - coming down for the game with the Hokies, some high school playoff action on Friday, going to the Loveliest Village to cheer against the Dawgs on Saturday, then catch the basketball team against the Vols Monay night before going home Tuesday. We'll throw in a little Christmas shopping. I am expecting nothing but victory!

Sounds like a hell of a trip. If all of those come out in our favor, it'll be on you to make sure you get back down here for Thanksgiving weekend.

Not watching basketball vs. Cornell? What kind of fan are you?

Poet Sidney Lanier called Auburn "the loveliest village on the plains". Auburn folk kind of liked that. Auburn teams were often referred to by sports writers when I was a kid as "the Plainsmen".

I'm familiar with the plainsmen but I hadn't heard that village stuff before.

It comes from a line in the Oliver Goldsmith poem "The Deserted Village" Something about "...sweet Auburn the loveliest village..."

Somebody's idea of a joke in this instance.

I'll be there. Hoping for another Miracle at Jordan Hare. Or maybe just a blowout win. Where are you sitting?

"A fluke at best." :rotfl:
