Looks like another rainy gameday

I tend to think that any significant amount of rainfall during the game will favor BYU. Tech's passing game seemed to be hampered by the weather last week, whereas from watching the Hawaii game, BYU's passing game still looked just as effective in the rain, the close score was due to typical BYU defense. I hope I am wrong (or the weatherman is).

Also, when will Yellow Jacket Alley take place for a 3:30 kickoff?

Good maybe BOB doesn't have to use his damn hindsight speach this time and actually uses Hollings more in the rain until the defense shows they can stop him. Of course....I ultimately put the blame on the head coach as he should have recognized this and pushed BOB to run the ball more. I think one reason Chan didn't do that is they are still feeling each other out and he didn't want to step on toes too early. But he is the head coach and ultimately it is his product on the field. I am looking forward to a more proactive role with the offense this weekend.

I don't know if you watched the game on tv or not; I watched the game in person and then watched the tv tape when I got home, but the girl who was their sideline reporter showed Hollings on the sideline and reported that he was exhausted. We probably ran him about as much as we could have or should have. The question is where the heck is Dixon and why is he not playing or has not had a single carry the entire season. I thought we were supposed to have more two back offense this year.

Tired fine...you get the point though. We should have been running Dixon or clinkscal more then. Either way...we smashmouth....we probably win.

Hollings was barely able to run back to the sidelines towards the end of the game...

Did ANYBODY else get ANY carries ?
I mean, he has to get some relief
during the game - What about Hatch ?
He looked ready in the Vandy game...

Also, this thing with Ford is getting concerning.
I';ve never seen someone out this long with a concussion - its now been 4-5-6 weeks (?)
That seems weird to me FWIW.......

As far as the rain - I think the best approach is to have 4 wideouts with one back, and pass 90% of the time..........Sorry bad joke.....

In my opinion, Hollings was tired because of a few things:

In the first half he was blocking, not carrying. This can wear you out.

He may have been frustrated with getting no carries(understandably so)

Tech was not doing well, and as we all know: if it ain't fun you get tired of it quicker.

Basically, I think that if he had been running and doing well in the first half, he wouldn't have been as tired. When you do what you enjoy, you don't tire as quickly. I honestly don't think that conditioning had anything to do with it. True, he sat out a lot for the first 2 games, but he was still practicing all week long, wasn't he? It's not like the games were the only time he had to get ready.

Of course, there is probably more to it than any of us know. We can speculate all we want. But the past is the past, and we should only revive it to celebrate or learn. Hollings will get plenty of looks this weekend, I expect.

Move out of the way everybody, we might get hit with a lightning bolt, I agree with BeeWare!

It really doesn't make any difference who the other backs are, we still need a two-back offense for distributing the ball. It is obvious this would keep the defensive linemen from ganging up on one back.

I know, thats whats so perplexing - the fact that he was ok at that game, and now suddenly he's out again...

Ford played in the Uconn High game but has had headaches since then. He was held out of the klimpsum game and Buck said he they were being very cautious and that Ford may have played too soon in the Uconn High game. Ford it out this week also.
Ford's brother is also a star athlete for Pepperell High School in Rome Ga. Does anyone know if we are in on him or has this crack recruiting team we have now completely written off Georgia?

Beeware......."The question is why did O'Brien not use Hollings earlier in the game" not whether we ran him as much as we should have or could have. The answer is not because Tony was tired at the end of the game! The answer is that O'Brien thought that Clemson would try and take away the run so he scripted his first series to account for that assumption. What Clemson did was take away the sideline passes and force Suggs to try and throw down the middle. We were woefully slow in recognizing this and adjusting

Quit trying to blow smoke up our arses. He did script the first series to pass the ball. The first play was a completed pass for first down. Then there were 3 incomplete passes in a row but the second pass was really an uncalled pass interference on klimpsum.
On TECH's 5th offensive play of the game Hollings ran for a TD. To say that he was woefully slow to adjust to the run is ridiculous and not accurate.

How do you know the 5th offensive play was not scripted also? The offensive game plan and execution were pitiful on Saturday. It reminded me of the Maryland game last year. Bill O'Brien has to stand on his own two feet this year. Last year he had a QB who knew the offense better than him...not the case this year. ESAD

83,
It doesn't matter whether it was scripted or not. For you to say he was woefully slow to adjust is just your idle speculation.
Why not try and post something factual for a change.

Oh, yeah...we were real quick to adjust. That's why we put up so many points, right?
