Looks like Gibbs is no longer the best player in the Portal

Be careful Kid.

Every Ohio State transfer isn't Joe Burrough.

You got beat out by a better QB, stay and friggin compete, you might go to a new Place and still get beat out, what happens if you transfer and the 2023 version of Trevor Lawrence shows up?

Might as well compete where you are, notice Mac Jones staying at Bama and reaping the rewards of fighting thru tough competition, now he is in a place where's he looking at a 12 yr ++ NFL Career as a Starter (barring injury).

There are no shortcuts kid, OSU surrounds you with everything you need to succeed

This kid rarely or never played in Games, QBs are more important than RBs, but we have no idea IF he is better than Gibbs or even Spencer Rattler , for that matter.

He's a name on a depth chart, that wasn't good enough to start, nothing more nothing less

You are very quick to find the flaws in everybody.
Not flaws, but a more fair representation of the facts.

OP poster boasted loudly that Gibbs was the no longer the best player in the Portal in favor of a guy that rarely or never Played.

What you call finding flaws is merely holding him accountable to the masses that expect fair information, he gave a very biased opinion.

The kid might turn out to be better, but a Guy that is Top3 in NCAA in Total yards isn't 2nd best to a lightly used backup QB.

IMO he was taking a thinly veiled shot at Gibbs because he was no longer a Jacket.

So am I finding flaws or balancing the scales?

OP sounded like standard self-loathing Tech fan humor to me.

I think he was just making a joke about the former number 1 recruit ditching his team after a year. Number 1 was the joke, right, because Gibbs was number 1 but this guy is number 1. I know it's complicated humor, or something.

Anyway, it's cool that you're sticking up for Gibbs, the guy doesn't deserve any of the random hate he got from a few around here. I didn't read your post from that angle, and was reading it into a pattern of your posts tearing down highly rated players. Mea culpa.

Still, throwing shade on the former number 1 because he didn't steal the starting gig in his freshman year is a pretty hot take, don't you think? Especially if his plan was to transfer back to Texas ASAP the whole time, there's really no way to evaluate how good or bad he is at football based on that.

I think about any program in the country would take Ewers over Gibbs right now…no shade

Yes they would, I wholeheartedly agree.

You always gamble more on a QB over a RB, due to the nature of the position and how critical the QB is in modern day CFB.

Taking Ewers over Gibbs is what you have to do, even though Gibbs is the better Player at this time.

Society may say you can grow facial hair but it is really up to God whether or not you can.

Anyway, what would it take for us to get him to sign up for the gauntlet we throw our QBs through every week?
