I'm taken with all the effort here and the hive to try and defend losing.

Sorry fellas. Apparently you've never been a competitor in a competitive event before. Losing is not a good thing in any way. Losing is UNFREAKINGACCEPTABLE

Damn right.

The team played well.

We did what we could despite losing so many players.

Coaches called a better game.

We will be great in the future (how many time have we heard that over the past few years)?

But the Bottom Line is: We Lost. And we still Havent beaten FSU since theyve joined the ACC.

You boys are Geniuses!
Losing is bad! What a remarkable insight!
I have decided, after this insight, that I will never pull for another team that loses! I will never enjoy any outstanding effort unless it results in a win! I will never use any sense of history, exceeded expectations, or the sheer joy of watching, celebrating, and aching with a beloved team, unless they win, ever again!
Thanks, fellas, I think I have just front-run myself out of all known sports! I can now spend all my time time whining about how often the sky is cloudy!

If anyone could fault this Jacket team after they poured out every ounce of energy and don't forget if J-Smith had caught that pass-yes, it was high but it was catchable, we would have been in a position to kick a game winning FG. And this by a team that was a 24 point underdog. I don't understand the logic, but in my ignorance I will blindly SUPPORT and our PLAYERS and COACHES. I am just as proud of the Jackets now as I was last week after we beat AUBURN. No i'm not a loser but I do recognize a great great effort when I see it.

Here's a better question for you.

Did any of you actually think we had a chance to beat FSU? Are you not impressed with the effort from Tech last night?

I'm as pissed as anyone that we didn't win, but what exactly is your agenda?

Losing is bad? No sh!t.
You should go turn in your Mensa application right now, I know they want such brilliant minds.

gnats, I'm disappointed in you, I thought there was more to you than this. Yes it's bad to lose. But there are bad losses (51-7) and losses that aren't as bad(14-13). If you can't look at a win and see potential problems or look at a loss and see positive signs then YOU haven't ever been in a competitive situation. Nobody wins all the time. I suggest you take a look at Boddy Dodd's quote on the Hive next time you're there.

I'm pissed we lost. But I love the fight and heart I saw from this team. If you give it everything you have and the other team is better, or makes one more play, it hurts. But that is what competition is all about.

It is an unfortunate by-product of the web's faceless interaction that people with nothing to contribute can draw attention that they would not get if the remarks were made in person.

<font size="2" face="Arial, Verdana, Sans-Serif">Sounds like you're well versed in the subject.

I didn't see any losers on the field. And from talking to some of the players after the game and hearing what others said, they're ready to take some frustration out on another group of Tigers heading to BDS@HGF.

<font size="2" face="Arial, Verdana, Sans-Serif">You must be a downright joy to play golf, horseshoes, softball, dominoes etc.... with - if you are so pissed off after losing. I don't think anybody here was actually defending the loss. In fact, I don't remember seeing one post congratulating our team on a loss. I think most of us were proud of the guts that our team left on the field at FSU. We battled hard and came up short to what many prognosicators feel is a national championship caliber team. Hopefully you are not so obtuse that you cannot see that.

<font size="2" face="Arial, Verdana, Sans-Serif">I'll tell you what. Why don't you walk up to Key Fox or Daryl Smith, and explain to him what a loser he is, and why.

Yes, we lost. Yes, that's not good. However, in your mind (apparently), a 500-0 loss is the same as a 14-13 loss. I'd be afraid to see what else is in that mind.

Damned keyboard coward.

I'm sorry but apparently some of youse have gone and misinterpreted my meaning. No offense taken.

My thought was that if you have ever in your ENTIRE LIFE had to lay it all on the line for a win only to have your better parts bitten off and handed to you, then and only then do you understand a loss.

Your stupidity in thinking for one moment that I have anything against this team or this effort is obscene. Head checks are available.

GNats you should go back and take remedial english. What you said is what you said. Hades man I wana tell you about winning/loosing. Then maybe you will shut your trap. A little kid I knew a long time ago had polio. When the Drs. told him to stand up he collapsed in a heap. Couldn't walk, couldn't run. He worked for years just to walk. He never ran again. Many of his dreams were shattered. Based on your analogy he is a looser because he never ran again. He married, had 3 kids one of whom is working on his PHD, one a graduate nurse, one a computer technician. He himself is an engineer, worked for almost 30 years with one of the largest computer companies in the world. So go tell him he's a looser and then look in a mirror and you will see a looser.

gnats, as I said I was surprised at your post. But if everybody misinterprets something then the way you said it probably could use some work.

<font size="2" face="Arial, Verdana, Sans-Serif">I think most people on this board have had to "lay it on the line" in some respect or another. You're not in some special crowd here, so get over it. And if most people thought your comments about this team's effort were obscene, I suggest you go back and read what you said.
