I could not accept that. If that happens we will probably be a .500 ball club and that would BE PISS POOR.

Do we pay these people MILLION $$$'S for THAT???

I hope everyone understands that BECAUSE of the Wake loss there is NO margin for error. Our THREE toughest game are still ahead of us.

ARE WE PREPARED?
 
I hear you Lawbee.. .lose to Maryland, and we have lost the season...
 
Unless there is a miracle on the order that we are not accustomed to seeing we can put the Maryland game in the loss column. The Terps have improved by leaps and bounds while we have regressed and this goes back to coaching. Ralph didn't surround himself with a group of his buddies(in fact I read that some of his assistants he didn't know personally before he hired them} but he hired a group of experienced coaches with a succesful track record. By the way I read and I heard the TV guy say that Ralph had the oldest coaching staff in the nation. Ralph is serious about winning and cronyism is not a game that Ralph plays. I surely wish we had hired him.
 
Ralph most certainly new his most important hires:

OC - Charlie Taffe (Remember him...lots of GT fans did not want him as HC because he had allegations that were never proven of a DUI

DC - Gary Blakney - Well known by both Ralph and George O'Leary
 
You guys are a bunch of losers for talking about "your" team like that. You need to take some lessons from some of the "full time" fans on this board. Fans like you of any and all teams are not needed and totally suck.
 
IIRC, GO is the one that recommended Blakeney to the Fridge! I remember cause when I heard that, it sorta made me mad cause if GO thought he was that good, why did GO not hire him here!!
 
No offense puppy fan but what we don't need are folks from other teams telling folks on a Tech board how they should act. However, I agree with the message you are trying to convey.

I guess you have forgotten the behavior of "Dawg Nation" when Goff was near his end... the days of Quincy... and with the exception of 1997, the Dunnan years...

I hear what you are saying... but I think you could find enough to keep you busy in your own backyard... and I have a feeling that your own backyard is going to keep you busier than you think in the next month or so...
 
bizzybee, you are correct. O'Leary did in fact reccommend Blakeney to Ralph. At one time I had a
list of Ralph's assistants and how Ralph went about hiring them and I can say to you according to the article Ralph did not personally know several of the assistants. This article told about
the coaches that recommended his assistants to him. Again,Ralph is all about winning. No politics for Ralph.
 
One thing that hurt O'leary more and more each year at Tech was his ever-dwindling circle of coaching contacts. He would only hire people he knew. These people also had to have a personality that allowed them to take the crap O'leary was sure to throw at them daily.
