9. Chan Gailey– The good news for Gailey is that he knows exactly where he stands. Gailey must win his last two games against North Carolina and Georgia to keep his job, and since both games are at home there is no reason a competent coach in his sixth season at a school should lose those two games. There is the rub, Gailey has not been competent in his job up to now, and if this keeps up Webster is going to start posting Gailey’s picture alongside the word mediocre in the next editions of their dictionary. Just imagine, in two weeks Gailey could be 8-4 and more than likely have a job in ’08 (of course, Gailey will probably be looking for a NFL job in the off-season anyway), or he could lose both games and end up 6-6. If he goes 6-6 in his sixth season at Tech there is no reason he should keep his job. Gailey should do well in these games, because nothing focuses the mind as the thought of losing a job that pays you excess of $1 million dollars a year.

5. Chan Gailey - Anyone paying a guy over $1 million dollars a year who has a .575 record in almost 6 seasons is someone getting ripped off, and Georgia Tech is getting ripped off big time! Gailey is 0-5, yes that is 0-5 folks, against his main rival Georgia, and you have to believe that Gailey's tenure in Atlanta is about to come to an end. What can Gailey do to save his job? Win out and hope that the Tech AD cannot find a big time coach who wants to take the Georgia Tech job. If he does, you can bet Gailey will be back in the NFL, which gauging by his actions last January is the place he really wants to be

Georgia Tech – There is just no excuse why a Georgia Tech football coach should have won only 58% of his football games in his sixth season. If a 58% winning percentage is good enough for Yellow Jacket fans, then they might as well sell all of the football equipment to the local Army-Navy store and put all the footballs away, because Georgia Tech football is dead. Tech is a very tough school academically, but there are enough smart kids these days in a recruiting hotbed that Georgia Tech sits right in the middle of to find 22 guys who want to play the game of football.
Who Georgia Tech should hire: Charlie Strong
2nd Choice: Paul Johnson
