Lou Holtz please SHUT UP

It's really disgusting how much influence they have on the Heisman. ESPN basically picks it. They kept spewing their crap about Troy Smith being the frontrunner the whole time so nobody gave it a second thought.

i don't know what it is, but it just feels like a long highlight reel with them.

Herbstreit, Mark May, Holtz, Corso, all of them, they all are a product of the same garbage. They don't actually watch the games, they sit there with their laptop and pull stats and highlights and then go on the air to spew it out.

Then, at work on Monday, I have to listen to co-workers and people in general talk about all the games from Saturday, and "what the coach should've done" - it just makes me sick. They just watched SportsCenter before work and they repeat the old garb that they just watched and think they're knowledgeable fans. Hirbstreit watches one game/week,that's the one he actually calls.

It seems as if nobody actually knows anything about football, they just know what they see on ESPN. Highlights are fun to watch, but you gain ZERO insight of the REAL game, the game between the game: the chess match by the coordinators, the way sub packages are exploited and exposed. You just don't get that stuff from ESPN.

I'm a hardcore fan, I've yet to learn anything from watching ESPN. It just feels like a big commercial, it's almost as if college football is like professional wrestling almost.

I don't know, maybe it's just Friday night, and I'm at home ranting.

I'm goin to the gym. Thank the good Lord for my 24hr gym. I can jog 4 miles on the treadmill and watch....you guessed it....ESPN.

Bama, I think you need a pep talk to cheer you up. In fact, I know just the guy...

ahhhh that feels better, endorphins have been released. I feel better now, not as angry.

:laugher: Good one gth, his lisp makes me pull my hair out. I have a 50in HD television, and i swear i see spit flying towards me when he starts talking.:laugher:

Lou Holtz has never been that impressive to me...and he only gets worse with time.

I have to think ESPN will re-evaluate his deal after this season...he is loosing his mind.

Bears who have cars they can’t drive because they don’t have hands. Football teams with lots of talent who can’t win. Chinese people. Zeppelin accidents.

They’re all funny in their own way, but also share one important thing in common: they’re all terrible things we should fear in our sleep–Chinese people, especially.

I still laugh every time I read that.

While I am happy cf exposure has moved past the days of Chris Schenkel and Bud Wilkinson, I agree with everything said about the clowns on espn.

It was the idiot appeal of Dick Vitale that gave espn their big idea to make cf coverage a bad game show.

By the way, back in the late 60's early '70s, ABC had a weekly highlight show on Sunday hosted by Bill somebody. I thought that was awesome. Of course I was 11 years old. Anybody remember his last name?

I thought that Schenkel hosted that highlight show at some point.

Take him for what he's worth...comic relief. You know the other guys on the set and behind the scenes are LTAO as he continues to make a fool of himself.
