Luke Fickell, currently the Head Coach at Cincinnati, has the ability to get Tech back on track quickly. His head coaching record is 51-16. Since 2018, the Bearcats have gone 11-2, 11-3, 9-1 (COVID year of 2020), and 13-1. Last year, the Bearcats only loss was in the College Football Playoff. This season they are currently 3-1. The man is one of the best coaches currently in college football and he is only 49 year's old. His current annual salary is 3.4 million at Cincy.

I'm not sure his current contract at Cincinnati. It may be too costly to get him, but if we could afford Coach Fickell it would be well worth the expense. I don't know if he would come to Tech. Fickell played for Ohio State and obtained most of his coaching experience there. OSU's current coach, Ryan Day, I don't think is going anywhere any time soon. There are very few coaches of his caliber that are not coaching at a Power 5 school.

I too will pretend we didn’t just pay a barely competitive P5 salary and require a seven year term to ink it

I concur.

Yes, but how do you think he will handle Tech's fickle fan base?

Fickle wouldn’t leave Cincy for ND and potentially USC last year. His family likes living in MW per reports. So if he wouldn’t leave for ND and potentially USC, why you anyone think he would leave for GT? He’s got it made at Cincy, especially since they are B12 bound.

he would be a good coach. Also agree likelihood is low.
