You people need to get over who leaves and who doesn't. Our new head coach hasn't even had the chance to really begin recruiting yet. Every one of those recruits was from the old regime. Even if they choose to stay committed, there's no guarantee that they are suited to the new program.

The head coaching change needed to be made. It was handled very well. It will take time to implement all aspects of the new program. Recruiting just happens to be the most immediate. I doubt our head coach is fretting over losing anyone. I suspect he is enjoying the challenge of starting late to build HIS class. And I trust he will have a full one with players of his choice.

I think it is important to retain D recruits. From every move I have seen from PJ, he is depending on the defensive staff to take care of these issues. After we start winning, I think this will change, but any defensive recruit lost is a LOSS.

Clapper is right. If all 12 of the remaining recruits decide to go elsewhere then so be it. They were never really committed to Georgia Tech if that is the case.

I would rather have whoever we do finally sign on February 6th for I know those guys will be truly committed. I hope some of them will stay but it is not the end of the world if they don't. No use wringing your hands over who stays and who goes. I just want whoever we end up putting on the field to play with some fire, some determination and some commitment to winning.

Go Jackets!

OK, but PJ needs to pull this plane out of its nose dive pretty soon. Its not that long till signing day.

I agree that we should not be concerned and I also agree with the coaching change but this will set us back for years.

I don't want ANY recruit that does not want to be at GT. It is mutually exclusive and there is too much talent out there to sweat some 17/18 y/o that MIGHT see the field in a couple of years.

I agree and pj will be fine im sure he will get his kind of players he wants and will try to start early for next year.

Recruits

Well said Clapper. Come the start of the '08 season Tech will have 85+ suited up and on the sidelines ready to play. Decommits after a coaching change is just part of the process of hiring a new coach --and it's a process that I believe the majority on here (self included) wanted to implement.

actually there is no way we will have 85 on scholarship...unless we just give the remaining ones to senior walk-on's. Of course, we will give one to whoever wins a starting position...such as the kicker and punter.

As of this moment....we have 54 on scholarship. Once Tyler Melton starts class he will be 55 (he is part of the 2008 signing class but will count towards last years limit of 19).

Does anyone know CPJ's policy on commits visiting other schools? I heard something about him revoking the offer of a prospect who does this. Of course, maybe he wouldn't do that this year because of the special circumstances.
