sales! A lot more! Nearly twice as much! For
'06-07 school yr the UAA received $30 million in donations that allow the fans to spend another $16 million to buy the actual ducats. How much more would donations be if Florida actually brought in an out-of-conference gm, other than Fla St, that would be worth paying to see??? Next time a Fla fan tells ya that they have to have an 8th home gm vs W.Michigan just to make ends meet, tell the fan it just ain't so.
Makes you wonder why GT fans are bellowing about the Tech Fund or A-T Fund which doesn't hold a candle to what the SEC Athletic Associations are raking in. Makes you question how the ACC can even compete in sports with the huge dollars brought in by the SEC, Big10 & Big12.

Isn't this the case with most big schools? I don't think too much is made off of box office sales...most of it comes through donations and merchandise sales. And TV contracts.

Of course their team is a perennial contender and has been for a long time.

They sell out against WCU and our fans, with an average salary of what, 90K, are concerned with making $30 from scalping their tickets to the trailer trash from Athens ...

Well I can tell you from experience ( I lived in Ganesville three years ago when I worked as a Software Engineer for WebMD R&D in Alachua) that it is very hard to get a ticket for any game out there. However like every college town there's nothing to do after you've checked out the hole in the wall type bars and clubs the town has to offer, so that is expected. My co-workers were amazed that GT season tix did not require some sort of generous donation or and did not come with a waiting list.

Also there are huge amounts of fans traveling there from all parts of Florida during gameday, I passed them every time I go up for a game at BDS.
