Luke is currently 8 TDs away from setting the record. If we start blowing Duke out on Saturday (I know, big IF), do you think Chan will keep trying to punch the ball in the endzone so Luke can get the record? Especially when you consider that we are playing a tough UGA team on the road in our last game. I could handle a 56 point game with Luke breaking the record at home.

I don't see the game getting that out of hand for one thing, but I think Chan would do the same he did in early season. Get the second and third string guys (those we have left anyway) some PT. I would think we would pull back on the offense but then again Bilbo running his shotgun attack could still score if Duke gets down on themselves.

I'd love to see him get the record, but I doubt an individual record is on top of CG's priority list. If recent history is any indication, Luke will be several PATs away at the end of the season. Which is too bad. With an offense as productive as the one we enjoyed in the late 90s, Luke's record would be so far ahead of the current record, it would be damn near unreachable to anybody anytime soon.

You know, those "consecutive" type records are truly impressive. Emmet's record is a big deal, sure, but if he hadn't broken it in that one game, all he has to do is come out the next weekend and finish it off. With a "consecutive" type record, all it takes is one stroke of bad luck, bad timing, etc and a chance at the record is gone forever.

Luke is a true standout in my book!

Go Jackets, score some damn touchdowns PLEASE!

I think he'll get it. How sad if he comes within a PAT or two of getting it and the season is over - that would be a shame. But, I think he'll get it.

I don't think he will get it because our offense
is in a funk. I don't think we could score 8 TD's against The Citadel. We might could score 9 field goals however.
