Dave has cleared up several issues for me and in doing so confirmed what so many here have said all along.
1) Tech is one of the 3 toughest jobs in the country, along with Army and Notre Dame.
2) Tech may win 9 or 10 games on occasion but never consistently.
3) The older fans from the 50s, 60s, and 70s are out of touch with reality.
So, all you guys who have so passionately argued that conference championships are out of the question; were very much in step with the GTAA, Congratulations!
Good thing Dave kept this operating agenda under wraps until the stadium expansion was complete. It might have gone a little slower with the ‘new realities’ out on the table.
Therefore selling 20,000 extra tickets to Clemson and UGA every year is just part our concession to the teams that DO expect to compete for championships.
Good to know. We just need FSU to rotate onto the schedule so we can fill up the club section with those guys.
If 9 or 10 wins are out of reach, the answer to the obvious question is 6. That’s another excellent clarification. Makes it easier to plan for Thanksgiving, and the holidays.
Hey guys you were right all along. Now we clearly know where we stand.
P.S. to Dave: Notre Dame is in the top 10.
Throw in Vandy or Duke at the next Tech meeting, when you clarify things for the older guys. The Notre Dame thing just confuses us.
